Yes there was a steady procession before the kick off, once again fantastic away support.

 

You could be correct there didn't look much room at kick off but as I posted they could have just been heavy handed and said away fans caught in any of the home areas would be ejected from the ground and all that goes with policing that situation, made more sense, but you may be correct with your assumption.

Can I just point out that had it not been for Donaldson working himself some space and firing in a shot last week that the keeper could only parry, Akpan wouldn’t have scored the rebound. As a centre forward, yes you are expected to score goals (especially from 3yds out), but your role is much more than that. And at this stage, CD is doing everything else spot on.

I bet you used to hammer Hanson for exactly the same reason, right?

 

The two off the top of my head were yesterday and at Cheltenham before they scored, I'm with you in a perfect world a player with 9 on his shirt should be your main contributer to your teams goal tally but in modern football that is not always the case, and yesterday he was doing a lot of the physical stuff.
Im suprised at the age of 35 he can still have the pysical battles with hairy arsed centeral defenders battering him and be a regular starter.

 

Exactly this - and as you say, something Donaldson is doing week in week out and which Doyle consistently failed to do last season. That is the major difference between what Tolly describes as two failing strikers; one did not score as much as we would have liked and contributed nothing else to the team, resulting in us losing far more games than we won, the other is not scoring as much as we'd like but his overall contribution is contributing to the fact we are winning more than we are losing.

 

Exactly. Unless I’m mistaken, Donaldson has 2 goals and 3 assists to his name this season. And this doesn’t take into consideration the work that he puts in either. Yet some want him dropped for a striker that has scored 1 goal more but zero assists and is less involved in our build up play.
