Away vs Morecambe 12th October

There were quite a few but Morecambe announced that they should make themselves known before kick off and they would be moved to the away end but after the game started that they would be ejected. Quite a few trooped past us. We saw 1 person being thrown out just before the end!

 

I wonder if @Bronco is home yet

 

Everyone praising Oteh after the game, but seemed to have forgotten his miss. That header was just as simple as Donaldsons chance.

 

Well it wasn't @Bronco who was thrown out, he was sitting next to me!

 

And the fact his goal was a cross...

But you know City fans, the unknown is always better than one that gets regular game time!

At 2 - 0 I though game over but give credit to Morecambe they kept plugging away and I think it was Ellison's shot that hit the post and the guy who followed it up should have scored, if it had gone in the way we were defending I'm not sure we'd have come away with all 3 points, once we went 2 - 0 up they had nothing to lose by attacking us and we looked dodgy at times at the back, O'Donnell was livid with the goal we conceded.

 

why stop at 3?

 

Disagree. CD had an open goal and all he had to do was side foot the ball in.

Oteh had a header with players in and around him.

 

I can see a clique forming here. @king karl please keep an eye on this lot. Potential trouble brewing.

The Bantams are a big club from a large city. Their average home crowd is over 14,000 and the fact that they sold-out their allocation for this fixture almost two weeks ago (more tickets at over 1600 than Morecambe’s average home gate) speaks volumes about the enormity of the gulf between the day-to-day realities of these two clubs. (In reality, lots more than the official gate from Bratfud were in the ground. About eight people sitting adjacent to Yours Truly were clearly Bantams supporters and I spotted more than one Bradford shirt hidden under over-clothing as people streamed away from the Morecambe end at the end of the match. But we must remember that the town was known as Bradford-upon-Sea due to its direct railway link to the West Yorkshire city years before it was re-named after the adjacent Bay..,)

Didn’t think we were good today. Morecambe unlucky not to claim at least a point. Very disjointed. Donaldson missed a sitter in the first half. Akpan scores but the game largely passed him by. Connolly was excellent. Oteh looked lively and offered lots of energy when he came on. Henley looked a weak link and we looked skittish at the back, it wasn’t a surprise they scored. Was a surprise it was so late in the game. Play like that against better opposition and we get nowt.
The big plus is we were average but managed to win. Positives but we need to improve somewhat to get promotion. Cautiously optimistic. Can do better.

Considering he's four years older than me, I'd take his looks any day!

 

We can do better, but we deserved the win. Steady enough away win. We're not going to smash it every week.

 

Well it looked well taken from where I was sitting, but we were in the seated area as near to the half way line as away supporters could get. Others would have a better view.

 

As @Offcomedun posted earlier to their credit the Morecombe officials knew there were City fans in the home end and told them to made themselves know and they would be escorted to the City standing area, but if they stayed in the home areas once the game kicked off they would be remove from the stadium, a very reasonable offer, I didn't see any problems inside or outside of the ground, except for our guys behind the goal setting a smoke bomb off again
