With regards the replay at Reading both their fans and the police were a disgrace on the night.

Respect your opinions but if we are still languishing in L2 in the time it would take Avenue to achieve league status (maybe 5years)our crowds would be severely depleted anyway and rightly so you only increase crowd size with a successful team it's up to the powers that be to ensure that doesn't happen The 2 Manchesters and Liverpool clubs are only an hour or so away and are more of a draw to any wavering city fans than a re established Park Avenue
No self respecting City fan would ever consider converting to the "Dark Side" of Beeston. (I hope)

Existing City fans wouldn't. But you only need to talk to older City fans to know that many more kids in Bradford followed Revie's Leeds than followed City. If Leeds re-establish themselves as a PL force that could easily happen again.

If you are nostalgic about the rivalry between City and Park Avenue, you may be interested in this new book.

    Exactly
That's why we need to see our club progress or we will be back to the 3k attendance mark
I was brought up and was sick to death (putting it mildly) of the "Super W€€DS" tag
Most of my school were their fans I was minority of one
But to fear a resurgent Avenue is unthinkable and in my opinion shows a to quote @Fordy117@Fordy117 negative outlook

They'll have to increase the capacity mate, all the Leeds fans I know don't attend (but will if they get into the Premier), well I can assure you 3 of them have not been as good as their word, all hot air.

Most Leeds fans would struggle to find their own arses with both hands let alone know where Elland rd. is....

In a time long forgotten when i was at school i remember there being more Leeds fans than City fans at the school. And of course only having one team in the city helps them, only a fool would say otherwise.

My dad's a Leeds fan and my best mate is a Leeds fan, they've all tried to get me to be a Leeds fan over the years especially when I was a kid. Absolutely no way, I was born in the BRI and I have claret and amber running through my veins and wouldn't change it for the world!!

As with most clubs getting to the promise land will increase their attendances, and Leeds have always been able to fill their stadium when successful, with regards Elland Road stadium IMO it is now one of the poorest in the Premiership, if they want to compete with the top 7/8 they have to spend not only on the squad which I hate to say they look like their prepared to do but also get the stadium up to modern standards.

Celtic forward Jack Atchison has signed for Barnsley today. Word is that Barnsley are loaning him out to a league 2 club this week. I wonder whether we are in the running?. He was on loan at FGR last season though, so perhaps he is going back there for the season

Like Manchester? Or Liverpool? Or Sheffield?

I'm not buying the excuse, there's miles more to it that just having 2 football teams in the same City.

18 of the 28 premiership titles have been won by teams from a two club city
If your team is succesful you will attract the punters
It's up to the club to ensure it is

Last time i went was for a rugby league international, it may look alright from a distance but its very poor by todays standards. Even the 'new' stand is thity years old. I know they've refurbished that stand recently but the rest of it is well past its sell by date.

and..........or Bristol or Nottingham, or Birmingham or Stoke or Sheffield.
I don't doubt that it would have a small impact on the level of support and I was not arguing that point.

But to try and use it a a reason for the (almost) complete lack of success of Bradford City is very, very thin argument.

Absolutely the same as me! I was taken to many Leeds games when I was a nipper, but when I was eleven, it suddenly dawned on my that I was born in Bradford (St Lukes) and that's the team I should be supporting. Fair play to my old man, he understood and even came to a few City games with me. Of course he must have been hurting inside. Now I'm doing the same with my two kids, making them sit in front of the match on a Saturday and buying them shirts and other Bradford related items, desperate to stop them following a random "glory hunting" Premier team. Unfortunately, it's a tall order :D
