It surely didn’t help City though having a rival in the same city, not only did it split the support in half but when Avenue folded a lot of bitter Stans got their kids to be Leeds fans. I used to work with a lot of Leeds fans born and bred in Bradford who were delighted when City lost. They were all from Avenue supporting families. The three City’s you mention are giants compared to Bradford, they also don’t have much Rugby league to further split support, they also don’t just attract support from Manchester, Liverpool but from all over the country.

I'm not saying it helps, I'm just not prepared to accept we should be this low down the pyramid simply because a second Bradford team existed. Its a weak excuse and one that really doesn't hold weight when there are so many other comparisons with Cities that have successful clubs.

 

The club probably feel we've got an ideal replacement in Jackson Longridge.

Actually my argument is that having two teams in a city is not something that stops success. I was naming the cities that have two teams. Not the TEAM itself!
