I do try. Football is an emotive game and we all can loose our shit now and then. I just generally try to hold it in until i have had time to reflect on the bigger picture. After all , it is meant to be our entertainment not the cause of a heart attack.

Even Stuart has admitted the formation and system was wrong but you carry on defending it Park if it makes you feel better.

What gets me is that Stuart has said he got the formation wrong against Harrogate. I think it was pretty obvious 20 minutes into the game that it was wrong and they were running the show. If he couldn't get any instructions out then to alter things and tell players to do something a little different then he had 15 minutes at half time to change things around and try and sort things out. To me though, nothing hardly changed and we just carried on as before.

If you look at that team he put out what changes would have made a difference. I very much suspect we would have lost that game with whatever personal on the night.

It wasnt the team it was the formation. They got behind the tip and the edges of the diamond time after meaning we were over run constantly.

Wood was left exposed time after time, meaning staunton coming out to assist in turn leaving a gap in the middle, Similarly on the other flank.

They got behind clarke leaving two on one in the middle and made easy yards getting up the pitch putting pressure on the back 4.

It was obvious what was happening yet he was seemingly oblivious to it or too stubborn to change.

At best niavety, at worst foolishness. Same mistakes over and over.

But we beat Stevenage with a decent performance with the same system Harrogate played well with the extra Edge. playing 442 leaves the midfield weakened I doubt on the night the result would have been different. But I agree a bit of extra width from the bench would have been worthwhile

I care actually because it's an indicator of how far we've now fallen when the bloody hooligans from bettys tea room are better than us. And not just by a bit, they bossed that game by a lot. fair play to them but the performance was embarrassing

We've fallen to League two from league one.

Isn't it more an indicator of how high they've climbed?

Early days, but Max Watters is on great early form for Crawley.

He would be considered a very poor signing by our fans with his background. But as we learn every year (or should learn), this is League Two - surprising players often shine.

You may be correct, we beat another team with that formation but at half time, as a manager, surely you stand/sit there thinking "this isnt working, how can we change it" rather than "tally-o folks, onwards we go, carry on regardless"

No. We cannot afford to take on an injury prone player who has barely played the last 3 years.

A winger and striker remain our priority, well mine anyhow, seemingly not McCall.

I still struggle to get my head around this. It was patently clear a couple of months ago what was needed to fill the gaps in our squad and yet those gaps still exist. SMc recruited DMH who flatters to deceive and struggles to provide a service to the strikers. I've no idea when we'll see Ismail again. SMc seemed to recognise we needed more fire power and recruited Evans as a striker only to find out after the event that Evans hasn't played that role for a few seasons now! SMc recruited Samuels who on the face of it is quite different to Donaldson, Novak and Guthries and yet gets no game time even when the situation requires something different. And of course according to Ryan Sparks and the resident expert on here, we still have some headroom within the salary cap to recruit another player or two. I winced when I saw Donaldson go down last night with an injury to his foot but was pleased when he could play on for most of the game. I hope that SMc reflected on what he'd do if CD wasn't available for a few months again. We'll be well and truly stuffed if at 36, he has another long term injury.

SMc really must see it very differently to most of us but of course that's his job!

Had a look at free agents, strikers there are still a number of decent options available. Wingers is a different story, seemingly not that many left who were released by EFL clubs in the summer who would come in and do a job.

Tom Pett, 28 year old wingers who can play both sides, mainly left mid. Barely played last season with only 7 games for Lincoln but was in 44 of the 46 league games in Lincolns L2 promotion season.

Ickehi Anya, looks to have been on trial at Swindon. 32 now, left mid and left back option but has had some bad injuries.

Paul Anderson, promoted with Northampton last season playing more central than on the right. Former city player so instantly ticks McCalls scouting system.

Reggie Lambe, 29 year old winger was part of the clear out at Cambridge. We looked at him once before with McCall summer 2016, he was on trial here and played one friendly before being signed by Carlisle.

Fil Morais, dont really need to explain. 34 now, only completed 90 minutes 5 times in the last 18 months. Looks like he might be done with EFL football in terms of a being an impact player.

McCall stated his intentions and views regarding free agents last week. He clearly thinks that they lack desire to play and probably unfit now. He is too stubborn to go back on that you would suspect, even if a player/agent threw themselves at us now.

January it will be, and either another young loan striker or someone not wanted by their club such as Guthrie
