I think the Cooky criticism is just at times. Sometimes senseless. And there are two types of posters on here. Some would walk over hot coals to defend him and some the opposite.

I think if he's the isolated striker, which he has been he gets fed up and looks ineffective. Put Kav or Young with him and he doesn't need to run.

He isn't immune from criticism. But he is important for the team as long as we play to his strengths. Like anyone really....

What some people fail to see is if he is on his own you'd be better off putting someone up top who can move about and run the channels too.

If we play like we have for the last few months he's a valuable player. GA obviously likes him too.

 

Really? If you disagree with anything I or anyone says , I don’t have a problem with that but just because I disagree with someone isn’t being flippant. Your opinion is no more , nor less valuable than mine. NO? That’s what a forum is all about. If I believe somebody is wrong I will say so and most importantly why, just as I would face to face . It’s called debate , along with it comes BANTER.

If you can’t cope with banter then what can I say?

Because that's exactly what I said isn't it... No, its not.

Last season he struggled when he was on his own. I didn't watch him the season before, so I'm going on the games I saw him. Every home game and 4 away games last season. Plus another 5/6 on Ifollow. Christ. I reckon you could start an argument with a grain of sand in a room on your own.

I actually said he should play next season but with players around him. Because that's better for the team, but all you can see is someone may have criticised your boyfriend.

It's also possible that just because he scored 30m goals on his own one seasons, that it might not work the next. Things change mate. I feel like you're very tunnel visioned about this.

You also seem to think if he didn't play (take last season) then we wouldn't score those 30 goals. Maybe not, but maybe someone else would. That's how football works.

City don't take Haaland out and stop scoring do they?

 

Yeh same pal. But the thing is people side with you when they haven't read what others have put. Funny.

 

Your problem here is he didn't struggle last season. The top scorer in the division if i recall. Like any player at this level he has his weaknesses but 50 goals and numerous assists suggests he's doing the job he's paid to do. No one is irreplaceable though, not even Cooky. All about keeping that form going.

 

Sorry I'm referring to the season that's just ended where yes, he still hit 20 goals. The games he played as a lone striker he was frustrated and ineffective.

That could have been tactics or something else, but it wasn't working.

Him and Kav have started to work well. That's a benefit to the team.

 

Technically you are right, the season has finished so it was last season. If he hadn't had the wonder season the season before last we'd probably be singing Cooks praises for a 19 goal season with numerous assists. He certainly isn't immune from critique, at times last season he was off form for various reasons but then bar Halliday who wasn't?

 

Nah, it'll never catch on with some.

 

I want to like this post but I’m a bit apprehensive in case I’ve misunderstood the previous 498 posts on this thread.

I’ll probably just leave it tbh.
