Sunderland fans were pretty critical of him

Lee Johnson plays decent football and that is half the way to getting the fans on board. I think it could be Michael Flynn with Lenny Lawrence as his DoF. Flynn's football isnt brilliant but at least he seems to engender loyalty and fight in his players. A bit like Parky did.

why are people obsessed with playing good football.
The only good football is winning football, tactics and style matter not
    especially in this division

Let’s get Baldwin or someone like him (maybe old pointy shoes) in as a temporary consultant to help with the interview process.
Maybe an interview board of Sparks, Baldwin and Jones (if he has time) or Morais (if doesn’t want to apply)

I feel price/cost is an issue here. Realistically look at those players whom have joined the club in the last 18 months. A clue is available.

You will all have an idea of my wish but without a plan, structure from the club and a huge lump of patience from the fans to allow potential success, I don't know.

Great idea. One thing is for sure, Sparks should not be trusted to make that decision on his own.

One of the essentials is that they have good football contacts, It was obvious that Adams struggled to attract players where such as Parkies reputation meant PL clubs were happy to entrust players to him, We need someone who has that same reputation that we can again get better players especially on loan.

Flynn has to be the front runner. I wouldnt be opposed to taking a punt on a less obvious name though. Exciting times.

    A couple of suggestions:

Michael Flynn - I think he's probably going to be favourite, probably a lazy appointment although I can see his merits as someone in the PP mould, doing well in cups but no promotions.
PP - He will probably be linked out of laziness too.
Matt Taylor - Yes Exeter looked good but how much of that was down to us? They are always there or thereabouts though.

We could look outside the league - Wild at Halifax or Garrard from Boreham Wood seem to be building good sides at that level and would surely be tempted.

Alternatively, what about managers on the way down - Tony Pulis or Neil Warnock may be out of our league but both seem to be screaming out for another opportunity and neither exactly play progressive football - so may get a tune out of these players.

I also wouldn't be against looking at a foreign manager, Barnsley plucked Ismael from relative obscurity and he led them to play offs - granted he failed at West Brom but still (I am not suggesting him btw, just that approach).

I don't care who we get as long as the team puts 100% into games and come off the pitch giving it their all. That hasn't happened for a long long time.

I can accept poor quality football if results follow. As it stood we were getting poor quality football without the results.

    100%. We're in the 4th division.

Let's do whatever it takes to get out of this hellhole - of all the things we should be worrying about style of play is bottom of the list.

Even forgetting the fact that the most engaged the fans have ever been at city were under the "dark age" football period.

Lee Johnson has been at Barnsley, Bristol City and Sunderland - and his win percentage at Sunderland was over 50 %.

He looks as realistic a signing as Kieffer Moore to me!

Anyway, onwards and upwards, Adams is gone, key decisions now to be made by Sparks:

What type of manager does he want?
What type of manager does he want AFTER THAT?
What type of manager does he want AFTER THAT?

If he can't answer all three of those questions already, he shouldn't be making the decision.

Does he go with a successor to Adams/Bowyer?

Or does he go with a successor to McCall + Trueman/Sellars?

Or does he do something totally different to what we've ever done before?
