I think that all the games will be played behind closed doors, but what should happen is that the EFL should get all the games made available on I-Follow to all the season ticket holders if you are at Home then it should be free because you have already paid for your home games via your season ticket, regarding away games you pay a nominal amount to watch.

It mind sound shallow to people employed in football but i couldn't care less about this season now. Like anything , this whole scenario will end up a bottomless gravy jug for lawyers. Even if we had been doing well i still wouldn't be bothered, i've lost interest for the foreseeable future.

Or telling self employed people to stay at home and turn away work, because 'social distancing is still essential'.

As much as we might want to see a few games of football, it's at the back of the queue in terms of what's needed to get society functioning with some degree of normality.

During this period of uncertainty it would timely for us mere observers to hear what Rupp's assessment of the situation is and how he sees the future moving forward for our Club.

Reading this morning's press it seems like yesterday EFL/L2 meeting was a shambles. Scathing criticism from Rovrum and Scunny Chairmen. Main point is why are EFL getting captains together to make decisions, why not Chairmen. Rotherham £550k short on cash by end June and predictions now several clubs will go under. Even UEFA suggesting season might finish sadly EFL prefer meetings rather than decisions, they need Dave Baldwin in there now before Rome burns to the ground and we loose the game at lower levels, he will bring clarity.
I know Fordy is still hanging out but the season should finish where we are before the next horror of players contracts and more fudging arrives.

There's a huge difference. Firstly, taking 3-4 months to plan properly, from a clean edge, is a lot different to figuring out how to end/finalise a season that's already 3/4 complete. You can build in clauses for the season afresh, in the event of subsequent waves of infection and these can be built into the terms of commercial and playing contracts. Secondly, those 3-4 months will allow more time for testing and vaccine development, or at least, for social distancing guidelines to be established in more everyday walks of life. Thirdly, the level of complexity in managing impacts to subsequent seasons, transfer windows, player contracts etc, becomes much easier.

Its not just about playing the games, its everything around the fringes of it. Write off one season, to get ahead of planning for many subsequent seasons.

They'll be even higher when you start suing them for failing to complete £32 worth of home games.

Am I missing something here? With no vaccine or effective treatment likely until well into 2021(if at all), who is going to feel safe in September sitting cheek by jowl in a crowd of thousands? I'm nearly 64 and many around me in C Block are older. Any of us could be unknowingly spreading the virus to many more of us.
I'm with Whitty on this. Social distancing is with us for a long time to come. Unless something changes drastically in the next few months - like the widespread availability of instant self-testing, or the virus burns itself out suddenly, or much more understanding about immunity (none of which seem likely) I just can't see it being safe to resume normal social gatherings by September.
Death rates from Covid-19 start to rise significantly from age 45 onwards, with males at most risk. So, while youngsters may feel safe, a big chunk of the VP crowd would be putting themselves at significant risk by resuming normal match attendance in September.
I bought my season ticket for next season soon after they went on sale. I wouldn't ask for a refund but won't attend games unless I'm confident it's safe. But many haven't purchased and, I suspect, won't do unless the virus magically disappears quicker than anyone expects.

"They are 6 points off safety and clearly see what's coming ie season finished and relegated."

So the season should be terminated now, but allow promotions and relegations? Your mate down in Plymouth will obvious want that as he implied in his club statement yesterday. He'll remember last season in League One. At the same time last season Plymouth were 12th. That's top half. 9 matches later they were relegated. They won't be relegated if this season continues but they only have to drop one place and they are in the Play-off lottery.

People are saying, including some on here, that if the season is voided then Leeds should be promoted. "They've deserve it". Again like Plymouth if we look back to last season, at this point they were top. Aston Villa were 10th, 22 points behind them. That's a heck of a lot of points. Remind us. Which of those two teams is currently in the Premiership and which is still in the Championship?

Not just because it is Leeds but they don't deserve anything yet.

Back to League One and following on from last night's conversations. The league places are decided after 46 games. That would mean that teams would have played through the huge pressure of the last half a dozen games. Can we stay at the top? Can we get up to the play-off spots? Can we get out of the relegation zone? Check where Plymouth and AFC Wimbledon were after 37 matches to see what I mean. After 46 games the top three go up automatically. One of the next four go up but only after 90 minutes of a Play-off final.

So my view is this. And I am not biased and I'm not a scientist or a politician . Find a way to play the season out. Whether that is by June or September or whenever. Clubs can then say with honesty "We have earned this promotion". Or "Well, we deserve this relegation".

If that cannot be achieved then the season needs to be null and void. Null and void means it did not happen. Therefore no promotion and no relegation. Integrity and all that.

So to cut this long story short. If any league chairman votes to stop the season before all matches have been played but to still allow promotions they should be absolutely ashamed of themselves.

You're deluded. A GP takes place over days in terms of the prep and execution, and over an expanse of space that equates to a small village. You can very easily keep people 2m apart. On race days the drivers are a non issue. They clearly aren't close together. the pit crews are suited up anyway and only come into distance within 2m for a few seconds whenever the cars pit. It'd be one of the easiest sports to organize a behind closed doors type approach.

But that's how your mind works isn't it? GP can do it, so can the football. A bit like - disinfectant kills the virus on worktops, it'll work in the lungs too.

Quite right. The only bits of football I've really missed have been the social side of going to the pub, meeting a couple of mates and my old man, having a few beers and a catch up. Most of the games I watch even at PL level aren't great and I haven't missed City one jot.

In terms of what I've felt impacted by most, or miss the most, football is nowhere near the top of the list.
