Unlikely to be a legal challenge when the Clubs themselves firstly agreed to a vote, then agreed to stand by the result. They can't have it both ways.
In the case of Dundee their original vote was never received by SPFL so whatever they voted was irrelevant. The only vote that counted was the one they registered which was to end the season 'as is'.
That is where I've said we will end up, been saying it for some time now, it just needs doing by EFL. The PL will eventually follow suit. There will be casualties, yes, in Scotland one of my favourites Brechin launched an appeal for funds weeks ago, not sure but think they are into the equivalent of the Conf., so be it if that's the case.
When this happens here at least Swansea and then us will get the balance of the McBurnie money in my view as season is finished not voided.

I'll be honest, I don't know the legal technicalities. Is there a provision in the legislation for the football league for clubs to vote on ending seasons early, by majority, and the implications in terms of league standings? I'd assumed not. If not, then surely the clubs have outstretched their vires and the vote is only partially legitimate at best? And certainly open to a legal challenge? I don't know the breakdown, but I'd imagine that the 18% who voted against, are the clubs at the arse end of their leagues? If there IS a provision for this scenario and the vote system aligns to that provision, then fair enough.

I think it will be challenged if they finish the Scottish Premier but don't relegate Hearts.

Ranagers and others already talking about taking legal action.

I don't see how you sort out pomotion and regelation in this country plus for me talk about ending the season is silly when we can't even talk about next season because nobody knows what's going on.

It will seem no fans will be allowed in to football grounds this year anyway at the earliest. I just can't see next season getting started if we can't end this one.

Today Professor Neil Ferguson, who is advising the government, has said that social distancing in some form will be necessary until a vaccine is found. That seems to be a long way off so the prospect of next season starting with crowds in the stadiums would appear to be very unlikely. And how can you have any sort of social distancing among players, coaching staff and officials during a football match. Players could be tested before the game but they might have picked the virus up that morning and show no symptoms. And if there's a case in one player then the whole club, and presumably the team they've played, would have to self isolate. That would apply even if games are played behind closed doors.

Mate, we are not going to end any form of sport until a vaccine is found. Don't be silly.

Like, saying that no airplane flights will happen until a vaccine is found.

You're wrong about the testing though. You test via blood(you can test other ways) and if the test is negative then fine play on. Anti body test also should be around.

Other sports will have the same issues but you have to solve them and they will.

Can you envisage the government allowing professional football to go ahead whilst at the same time telling lads they can't have a kick about in the park because it's too dangerous? I can't.

Or telling self employed people to stay at home and turn away work, because 'social distancing is still essential'.

As much as we might want to see a few games of football, it's at the back of the queue in terms of what's needed to get society functioning with some degree of normality.

Mate, you have given up on the game. I don't fault you for that and certainly not for given up on Bradford City but sport means so much to many people in the world plus in brings in so much money..tv, Bookies, construction etc the leaders won't give up on sport!

As for the self employed, most of them will be breaking the social distancing when they get back in their vans driving all over the shop. Social distancing won't work after the lockdown has ended for many industries

On relaxing the current restrictions, Prof Ferguson said: "What we really need is the ability to put something in their place. If we want to open schools, let people get back to work, then we need to keep transmission down in another manner.

"And I should say, it's not going to be going back to normal. We will have to maintain some level of social distancing, a significant level of social distancing, probably indefinitely until we have a vaccine available."

BBC health correspondent James Gallagher said if a vaccine were to be found, it was not expected that manufacturers would be able to mass produce it until the second half of 2021.

"Remember, there are four coronaviruses that already circulate in human beings. They cause the common cold, and we don't have vaccines for any of them," he said.

So, no crowds at football at all next season?

I don't believe they will be crowds at football but this is one of the reasons why I want to get this season finished. Get fans use to it!

If you get next season and it's beyond closed doors you're killing the game because the excitement for the season has gone.

However, i say this think I can't help but thinking they will be flights soon and people will be traveling the world again. So if people will be allowed to do 10 hour/ 20 hour round trips then why can't football clubs have crowds?

Play out the season behind closed doors and if next season needs calling off then call it off! I don't see how the world doesn't get a second wave from this virus!

Flights will not be restarted any time soon so I wouldn't worry about playing in front of crowds-it ain't gonna happen.

I doubt we will be out of restrictive measures for a while yet. I am fully expecting this 3 week extension to run into 6 weeks or even 9. Once the curve has started to go down then we may see some restrictions being lifted.

Football and other sport are likely to suffer badly as social distancing will still be required.

The football authorities are going to have to grasp reality. We'll be in lockdown until the end of may and then itll be 3 months, minimum, of significant social restrictions. It'll be months before we see any football.

I can see there being some level of carnage as clubs fold due to the loss of revenues and impact of continued social distancing.

The EFL are going to have to decide how they are going to keep clubs afloat to complete the season.

What a mess this is unfortunately going to be.

How does ending the season keep teams afloat?

TV deals cancelled , sponsorship, lack of next season sales, refunding season ticket holders. I just don't see how ending the season benefits anyone.

Players out of contract could struggle to find new clubs.

What the EFL should do is get the season finished when they can but pay out 40m to cover the average gates to the clubs.

Players will need to defer wages to help clubs. Government needs to step in also.

Next season might not even happen at this rate! The thought of next season is miles away. Don't rule out another lockdown in winter!
