    Well it's tough.

Behind closed doors. Neural ground I wouldn't have a problem with that.

Next season if happens will be behind closed doors more than likely. Football will have to change and adapt just like more industries.

I'd be nervous about playing matches at neural grounds.

Once all this is sorted, I will renew, however I totally get what you're saying. I've not missed going to VP, it'd become a chore, I was going out of pure loyalty to the institution of our club itself ( not that shite on the pitch) not enjoyment.

Not sure what is gained by playing at neutral grounds.

Why should teams give up the advantage of playing at their home grounds?
Also what will happen if games are played on neutral grounds when Liverpool or Leeds are playing and a win gives them the title/promotion? Do you not think that thousands of scousers/loiners will be in attendance at their home grounds? How will social distancing cope then? Do the police need to have to try and keep order amongst those that attend?

Nothing. They will stay at home. Clubs like Liverpool and Leeds plan in advance. They are not Bradford City. I am sure when possible both will do a celebration of some sorts with fans and would highlight that on the website.

What you have to understand is people want football back but more important things are in play now and they won't be fans going to neutral grounds. Just like they won't be if Bradford City got to the play off final or West Ham stayed up in the PL.

    You're looking far too deep.

As for home advantage. What home advantage? No crowd and clubs will have to give up something to get this season finished and to start next.

Ideas will be floating around but behind closed doors it will have to be. Where they play isn't an issue. Footballers just want to play football. Fans just want to watch on tv for now.

If you are seriously trying to say that on a day that Liverpool could win the title there would be no fans (idiots) in the Anfield area celebrating? The place would be overrun.

    Yes I am.

The virus is hitting everyone and it effects every family. Families will celebrate indoors together.

If we got to the play offs and won then I think we wouldn't be on the streets and we have idiot fans.

Clubs would manage the situation by announcing celebrations when the time is right!

What we going to do no play any sport around the world until a vaccine is found? Don't be silly.

When I say follow suit, I think the season will end. Possibly voided rather than finished as-is.

    No chance in PL.

    Maybe, in EFL.

Don't see what difference it makes as doubt crowds will be allowed in this year. Vegas staying mass gatherings unlikely until 2021 and that's Vegas.

The EFL need to put their hands in their pockets

Without trying to sound stereotypical, Scottish football is a joke. You only need to look at the allegations made by rangers last week to see it. How they can relegate teams who could still mathematically survive is beyond me. I'd understand it a little more if they were doing what many had suggested and scrapping relegations for a year and having a larger league, but this is ridiculous.

I saw a report earlier (by sky maybe?) Where it said English clubs have accepted that voiding is off the table so I'd be mightily surprised of either that or what scotland have done happens here. It doesn't make footballing sense to me and I don't understand what financial sense it would make either. I know clubs losing match day revenue would be a blow if games were to be played behind closed doors but that is where the premier league and efl need to help. They have started that process by factoring in some earlier solidarity payments but it's not yet enough. Plus for us, we have 250k in add ons from vaughan and doyle hanging in the balance. If the season doesn't end naturally then do we miss out? And we won't be the only club with such clauses. Not to mention prize money and differing TV money for promotion chasing sides and sides trying to stay up.

I agree. And as with @bantam2708@bantam2708 , the decision to lock in positions is ridiculous and massively open to legal challenge. If you're going to end the season with so many games left, you have to void it. No other way.

And I saw yesterday an article which suggested that PL clubs want the season to finish by end of June if its going to restart, because of the complications with player contracts. And didn’t they say that they need 56 days to finish the season? If so, we’d need to get going again with 3-4 weeks. Not happening. I expect this lockdown to remain until end of may/early June. And then there’ll be a phased rollback, which will probably take months.

I don’t think this season will finish in the UK. Unless the players upsticks, fly off somewhere to a country that isn’t infected and isolate themselves for 6-7 weeks - which i don’t see - then I think the season is done.

The FL said they needed 56 days including play offs. As they will take a week at least that would put rest of season down 46 days.

most PL teams have 9 games left, some 10. Couple of days between games they could get through it in a month

Fair point. There’s the FA Cup and European competitions too though. Maybe an extra couple of weeks there. Either way, its going to be a squeeze and each passing day makes it look more and more unlikely that the season will finish.

It mind sound shallow to people employed in football but i couldn't care less about this season now. Like anything , this whole scenario will end up a bottomless gravy jug for lawyers. Even if we had been doing well i still wouldn't be bothered, i've lost interest for the foreseeable future.
