It is lesson on protesting; many think it will not be listened to, and a drop in the ocean etc. Collective protest on social media, fans refusing to go to VP, organising a fly bye. It all counted, as my father always taught me, stand up for what you believe in.

There is a lot of speculation about the significance of the McCall sacking in Edin Rahic's downfall and Simon Parker alluded to this as the first major failing of Rahic. As a big supporter of Stuart McCall I was equally minded to lay blame for his sacking on Rahic given it is not surprising that he should have been jealous of Stuart's stature at BCAFC.
However the decision to sack Stuart was not that of Rahic alone and Stefan Rupp told me last month that he had supported his dismissal. The reason he gave was that he and Stuart had failed to establish a constructive working relationship and he had concerns about Stuart's response when things had started going wrong. Whilst I have always been inclined to give Stuart McCall the benefit of the doubt, Stefan Rupp's comments were not unreasonable or unfair and I can understand how it would have left Stuart vulnerable at the point when things were going wrong not to have absolute confidence from his employer. Whilst this might give a different slant to the above discussion, the point that should be made is that Rahic's conduct was never going to get the best out of Stuart and again it is hardly surprising in this context that Stefan Rupp should have an unfavourable impression. Besides, Rahic was such a manipulative individual that Stuart was always going to be on a hiding to nothing. Parkinson and Grayson came to similar conclusions whereas Stuart stuck at the job. In the later stages of his employment I had major concerns about Stuart's health because he looked worn out and at the time I felt that his dismissal was in Stuart's best interests even if I felt that it was a loss to the club.Chad, Allotment Bantam, bantamdave41 and 9 others like this. -
Don’t show @Park bantam this thread. He’s convinced that the fans had absolutely nothing to do with this and that it’s simply the results.

Wow bitter recriminations from those that didn’t want to rock the boat, when that is precisely what was required. He has gone, at the very least we need to be united in helping our squad and build a winning team. Please stop this, it is now time to focus on what takes place on the pitch. I for one feel much better, it has never felt comfortable but it was absolutely necessary.
I am really pleased that Stefan has decided to stay and continue to invest in our club. Should he have known earlier, yes probably. However, he was a man who had been persuaded to invest in our club by Rahic. To Stefan in was a long term investment, he had no interest in running the business that was Rahic job. Stefan doesn’t know football, not particularly interested, nevertheless it cannot have escaped his notice the constant topping up the bank account, his investment in the team the best for 15 years, and here we are bottom of League 1. Stefan had fulfilled his part, what was wrong? He must have been extremely worried not only with the current state of the finances, but how he could effect change without making it worse. It was difficult for us to understand how he could not see what we were seeing, but remember he doesn’t understand football, plus Rahic was only giving him edited highlights, or worse complete misrepresentation. Stefan deserves our support, he doesn’t understand the day to day running of a football club, I hope Julian can help him in that department.
We are still in a mess, but the only way fans can effect change for the better, is to turn up where ever possible to games and give that team and manager our full support as only Bantams can do. Yes there will be mistakes, easy on the criticism full on encouragement.CT Bantam, Farnborough bantam, Allotment Bantam and 7 others like this. -

I agree, from what I have heard, Mr Rupp does care and knows he has been shafted. His message today conveys that. The voice of supporters has been listened to.Stop hovering to collapse... maybe the reason for wanting the fly-by pulled was that some people knew Rupp was kicking Rahic out and didn't want to jeopardise that process by POSSIBLY irritating Rupp with a banner suggesting he leave too. Probably wrong but its another angle, that said, does it matter?

Thank you The Cow's Arse. They banged the Edin Out drum pretty much as soon as he walked through the door. I remember all talk of rifts between McCall and Rahic shouted down by most in here in the C&B days.

I went to the Burnley pre-season friendly, 6 weeks after McCall took over. The fantastic flowing football that he had already instilled into them was breathtaking, given the number of new recruits and lack of back room staff when he came in. It was like chalk and cheese compared to Parky. I couldn't believe how he had got them playing that style so quickly. Yes we missed out but the man who knew football wanted Macca sacked rather than backing him. In my opinion it was Edin who wanted to run a club and be manager rather than actually let people who know football run the football side of things...he wanted the limelight but hid went things went bad....Naz Nomad, broadsword, Bronco and 3 others like this. -

Even reading the debate about the need, or not, for the flyover should have told him plenty about the fanbase in a broadly positive way.Stop hovering to collapse... Click to collapse... Hover to expand... Click to expand...Offside, Skyebantam, Bronco and 2 others like this. -

Never under-estimate the power of the pen (keyboard). We had the blind, following unwavering in their support of Rahic.
The handwringers, quick to pick up on calls for Rahic to sell up and leave, throwing at us almost accusingly to give names of whom might take over. Why dont we put our own money in was a common put down.
Well, it wasn't required, it became very evident last season Rahic couldn't handle crticism.
Social media ( and most of you) did its job, it didnt get personal to his family, or his Nationality. It was 99% aimed at him.
He got the message.
Take a bow and applaud yourselves, you played your part.Steve1970, WilsdenBantam, vladimir and 2 others like this. -

To explain a little further, it doesn't make sense for an owner to place his company in Admin because in doing so, he will lose his own investment of €6mill in the company instantly and the company won't benefit from having its external loans written off since it doesn't have any! In this particular case, it does make sense to throw some good money after the bad.
In our previous Admins when JR was involved, there was a (sort of) business case for the owners placing the old club in Admin. In doing so, the very significant external loans, leases etc were written off and a new debt-free club could emerge to be sold by the Administrator to a new owner (or one of the previous owners!) at a knock down price. And of course stuffing the club's many small creditors at the same time.banbrotam, Interested Bystander, Botswana Bantam and 2 others like this. -
So in the long run us fans are now where most wanted us to be, rid of Edin with a Bradford City fan working at the club as our CEO until the end of the season at least guiding the club in the right direction once again.
Now Stefan has got to step up to the plate and deliver, the sideshow has left the building.Damo, Skyebantam, JonButterfield and 2 others like this.
