We played our part in the Exit!

Here's my take on the McCall situation, Edin came to our club and spoke to Phil Parkinson on the way he wanted our club to go, once he'd finished with the interview Phil Parkinson got straight onto his agent and told him to put his name out that he was open to offers.
Once he'd told Edin he wasn't interested in the way Edin wanted to go about running his and our club, both Edin & Stefan were desperate because they had very little if any of knowledge of the English game certainly at league one level, so Julian suggested giving Stuart McCall a bell, this is a guy who's only knowledge of McCall was being lathered and falling off the car roof (he actually said that himself) he didn't have a clue of how Bradford City fans held Stuart McCall in the highest esteem.
Once he took the reigns and started the ball rolling which finished with us at Wembley, something even Parky couldn't do in league one, he was getting all the admiration from the fans which as Director of Football he thought he should be getting.
Edin could never grasp just what Stuart McCall meant to the vast majority of Bradford City fans, and unfortunately with the difference of opinions football wise it had to come to a head which it did during the first and only poor run of form during his second managerial time at Valley Parade

 

I went to the Burnley pre-season friendly, 6 weeks after McCall took over. The fantastic flowing football that he had already instilled into them was breathtaking, given the number of new recruits and lack of back room staff when he came in. It was like chalk and cheese compared to Parky. I couldn't believe how he had got them playing that style so quickly. Yes we missed out but the man who knew football wanted Macca sacked rather than backing him. In my opinion it was Edin who wanted to run a club and be manager rather than actually let people who know football run the football side of things...he wanted the limelight but hid went things went bad....

 

I believe Rahic also envied James Mason's flair and popularity. He only wanted one face to fit.....his own.

 

I'm sure James enjoyed seeing the back of edin on Tuesday..

 

Exactly my thoughts.

The biggest disappointment is that while Edin didn't have a clue about League One football in England (understandable), he also apparently had absolutely no clue about football anywhere else either.

I had a faint hope that he'd bring in some bargains from Europe who could really strengthen the depth of the squad.

What we got were a couple of abysmal keepers, a forward who has taken two years to put in an acceptable performance, and some random kids who have hung around and left with few remaining.

What exactly did Edin bring to the table in football terms?

Absolutely nothing!

One of the key learnings for City fans going forward has to be those that uttered the legendary line 'Well Sattelmaier can't be worse than Doyle".

No one should ever use the 'no one can be worse than...' line, as it cannot ever be correct. Ever, under any circumstances. It's the worst bit of logic possible.

 

The frustration is, if either Parky or Stuart had of been given the sort of budget we will spend this season (Biggest in 15 years, with more to come in January), we'd be in the Championship now.

 

Rahic got rid of the highest earners, trousered a nice amount of the wages saved for himself per month. replaced them with utter shi&e. Biggest budget my ar5e.

Maybe I am but I am quite drunk and just glad to see the back of the coot. I thought i'd heard he was taking 11 or 12k out a month.

 

It's no coincidence that of all the things you could have chosen to talk about from that article you opt for something which allows you to defend Rahic. For once, why don't you just call him out for the useless twát he is?

 

I have no idea whether there is a potential new investor or not but if there is, do you honestly think everything would have been signed, sealed and delivered straight after the Oxford game? These things take time, there is due diligence to carry out and negotiations to take place, and I would imagine certain conditions requested, such as getting a certain person out of the picture, which of course has now happened. The mystery investor may never materialise but just because they haven't yet doesn't mean they won't.

 

Latterly? 18 months ago he gave his infamous I know football quote, so his interference on the field was going on before that. What you saw is good men and women pushed to the limit before the wheels came off 12 months ago. There’s not a single thing Edin can be praised for, the inability to lead and the damage done outweighs any positive actions.

 

Tinged with some regret, as he would have still been at City but for Rahic.

 

He'd then have to admit he's been wrong all along, nothing to do with a different opinion, just totally misunderstanding the situation when the facts were staring him and a few others in the face.

 

Spot on unfortunately. ER craved the hero worship Stuart rightly got despite any managerial frailty's.
