Absentee owners never work. But we seem to be very unlucky in that our absentee owner apparently takes little interest, does not put money in and doesn’t know anything about football. Is it any wonder it’s been downhill since he arrived.

 

I would think anyone who comes to the club will be a loan we know January is either for teams desperate to strengthen their team for an all out push for promotion or the other side trying to bring players I to stop poor result and to keep said team in the division.
Remember ths last time we spent big money trying to replace Nahki Well, money wasted on a certain Aaron McLean.

 

We had decent owners before r and r and they got similar treatment on here as will the next lot. Unfortunately football fans pay no heed to economics

 

Anyone coming in is sure to say " Bradford City are a massive club, as soon as I knew they were interested I just couldn't wait to sign"..........Bullshit...

I think before they go to be interviewed they are given a sheet of paper that says these things about massive club, big crowd. Last summer every signing said the same thing often in identical wording. Corporate control is what they call it. I see Man U’s Portuguese signing yesterday said he’d been a fan of the club since boyhood. He bled red!!!

We brought in Rhodes. That for me highlighted where Rupp is at...he couldn't care less about the club.

In football you can’t stand still either on the field or off it. Of course you have to have a budget but equally you have to have a plan on how to spend it. We could have done better, much better, with the money at our disposal. Promotion teams have been put together on a shoestring. Most of the wastage was done by Rahic true and his mess will take time to clear but he was Rupp’s partner. What was the point in Rupp taking over if he doesn’t take an interest. The only assumption is he bought it as a business speculation. In
that case it’s up to him to speculate. That’s what business people do and have to know when to put and when to take. I’d speculate that an injection of cash today would do much to protect his asset. Failure to do so and we might well drop out of promotion contention with all the attendant financial problems of poor crowds etc.

 

Foreign based yes but are they as absent and disinterested as our owner snd do they not put money in.

 

If you read today’s transfer blog we have one of the biggest budgets in the league provided by Rupp unfortunately a big part is taken up by many of last seasons failures.
But Rhodes and Lawn ran the club cleverly by using the budget wisely and unless any potential new owners have money to throw away on us will do the same. Don’t forget with our stadium we have to find close to half a million every year before we start and that’s without all the costs of running and staffing it.There is no sugar Daddy on the horizon
