The word on the grapevine was we don’t have a pot to piss in and Bowyer was told Doyle and Vaughan were off for financial reasons.

I hoped that it was bollocks and that we would show some money, but our actions say otherwise. Talking up Patrick and loaning Mottley Henry - it really can’t get much worse.

Rhodes loaned Windass out to save cash and it relegated us. Even though still theoretically in the promotion hunt, he’s handicapped Bowyer now, taking away his two big assets, and made another season-busting move. All because he can’t budget properly and our cheap ST prices are biting us on the backside.

Just waiting for the club to tell Simon Parker we aren’t expecting any more arrivals tomorrow then we know we have been well and truly lied to by Rhodes and Rupp and been proper shafted.

My, my, my! Your offer price has fallen by £4mill within 48 hours. Wow! No wonder you're a successful businessman in your own right

This doesn’t tally up with the fact we’ve had a bid rejected for Will Grigg.

Depends what we bid. If it was a fun size mars bar and half a bottle of Tizer then there might be something in it.

We won’t have tabled a real bid. We’ll have made a low offer we knew they’d never accept, just so Simon Parker can tell the fans we bid. It happened with Kieffer Moore.

If we really had bid for Grigg then we still have the resources about to bring in our next target. So the club need to deliver an established player not as good as a top target. If, however, they bring in no one, or Dylan Mottley Henry etc, that is a massive discrepancy compared to the first supposed target.

Grigg, like Moore, who was replaced by German non league man Bruenker, was merely a PR stunt. But the fans can see straight through it.

If Man Utd wanted Fernandes and missed out they might have gone for Maddison or Grealish, for example. They wouldn’t go for Bradley Dack or someone else miles down their pecking order if they genuinely wanted to improve their side.

That is, in relative terms, what City did with Moore and Bruenker and what they’ll do with Vaughan and Doyle if they don’t make a proper bid for a new striker instead of Grigg. We seemingly have no intention to replace lost quality. We’re just penny pinching.

Could it be the case that the uptake of season tickets has been so poor that the management have panicked and, instead of working out why that might be (wouldn't be difficult would it?), have simply decided to pull up the drawbridge and cut as much expenditure as possible?

Have we though? And having a 'failed bid' for a player we were never going to get wouldnt cost anything would it? Bit of PR to throw to the fans....

Somethings off here. I think we're potless. Properly skint. This all reeks of financial contingency.

I think Rupp should just leave mate.

The club is in trouble. It's clear.

So he needs to be a big man and sell at a massive loss then f&ck off. He can join Edin somewhere

Well they should of sacked Bowyer as that's the problem.

That is what agents and players were being told last week. Unless the board have had a change of heart tonight after seeing the backlash from the fans (i dont think they care though tbh) there’ll be nothing to get excited about tomorrow. :-( Depressing times.

Why would we be facing financial tribulation anyway? A budget was set in the summer and at one point our recruitment even came to a standstill because we refused to go a penny over. Scannell and Doyle departed, and only then did we continue building the squad. Clearly, we stuck to what we could afford. what’s changed since the summer from a financial standpoint which has made us go from comfortable to this precarious situation you speak of which is suddenly forcing us to ship out our club captain and the countries leading goal scorer to save a few quid?

Sounds like they can’t afford his payoff.

If we don't strengthen tomorrow, It will be interesting to see how is Bowyer is going to justify his 'whatever happens will be in the best interest of this football club' statement.

No cup run? Smaller crowds than tickets sold. Fewer bums on seats equates to fewer pints, pies and programmes sold. Just guessing

What’s changed since the summer? Mcburnie money comes in, debts wiped away, club in good health but now we’re in financial disarray? How have we managed to do that?

    McBurnie went straight to Rupp.

@Dennis@Dennis says Rupp hasn't put money into club.

Who says we are in good health? I hear we are not.

The boards issue is that they’ve no credit in the bank with much of the fan base. There’s still an understandable legacy of distrust from Rahics shambolic behaviour. To tar Rupp with the same brush is unfortunate. The facts are that Bowyer hasn’t delivered but losing Doyle’s lack of goals and Vaughan’s attitude may prove to be a master stroke. See what happens tomorrow and the proof is in the results.
To me Bowyers on thin ice and the football has been crap for months now. It needs to improve along with results sharpish or he’s gone. I think it’s probably already irreparable but we've little choice. Results and performances must improve or he’s gone
