No other team in the country would get rid of goalscorers like Doyle and Vaughan half way though the season when sat on the edge of the playoffs.

I understand the money we paid you for Doyle was the exact same amount you had to pay Doyle by paying off his remaining contract. If a player doesn’t ask for a transfer the club are still liable to honour the contract if they choose to let him go.

 

Confirming Power, Jewell and Wellens have played a blinder with Doyle this season, unlike the clowns in charge of us.

Power and Jewell ex City players too, and of course Jewell ex manager who got us promised to the Premiership. Can we swap Jewell and Wellens for Rhodes and Bowyer please?

So at a stroke we give Swindon a tremendous boost in their promotion campaign and seriously damage our own never mind demoralising a large section of our support. Now maybe they will pull off a master stroke tomorrow but I seriously doubt it. It looks almost like some kind of fire sale of our only saleable assets. In these bizarre circumstances you would think we’d be into full on damage limitation mode. But no: we’re keeping a low profile. No one seems to have the guts to emerge from the bunker and offer an explanation. I am underwhelmed by today’s signing although as ever prepared to reserve judgment till I see him.

 

We can’t be paying off the contract of someone we want to keep and he wants to leave. That would be criminally insane.

But the knock on effect of trimming the budget now will mean 1,000's less take up on season tickets which will give the club even less of a budget next time.
No sign of further funds investing from rupp and rhodes playing yet another blinder in january.
Not looking good for next season or the future, but hey we can all feel right at home in the fourth division where good strikers come to leave as soon as possible.

 

All I can say is that Rhodes and Bowyer will be lucky to survive this unless they pull a prize rabbit out of the hat tomorrow. It’s all on tomorrow now. I expect this site to crash if we don’t make at least one major signing. And let’s not have the excuse it we really tried all day to bring someone in but it wasn’t to be. It reminds me to some extent of the kick in the guts I felt when we let Paul Aimson go but ten times worse. At least on that occasion we got Tony Leighton in return.

 

To be far it's too late for me. I fully believe both need to go and nothing will change my mind.

 

Rupp needs to go also as I firmly believe he's as bad as Edin.
