My view is that the job is not always in the title. If the succesful applicant can do the job required does it really matter if they are Head Coach or Manager as long as they can do the job required.

Which young players has McCall developed in his managerial career? Certainly none while at City. He clearly prefers to work with experienced pros he can be one of the lads with.

What team has he improved over a long term? His first spell at City he took us to lower mid-table league 2, he left Motherwell bottom of the SPL and he just about had us on an even keel from when he took over to leaving this time.

It's why he was never a good fit under this regime and should never have been appointed, it was also why Grayson was a poor appointment. This doesn't bode well for attempt number three.

 

I cannot understand how you could sign or get shut of players without the bloke running the team in place.

At least now the position is set out .Abbott has been derided for his signings and yes there have been mistakes. But he has made good signings as well NKP and Vincelot played a big part last season and Wyke and Robinson and Kilgallon haven’t done bad either. Couldn't they have just put out a statement saying 'We are looking for a manager who can get us to the championship and we will do everything we can to assist the new manager in achieving this target.'?

 

Based on previous recruitment we seem to have a problem identifying players with potential. The first team squad could include one or two youngsters without causing to many problems, but 5 or 6 of the quality we’ve seen thus far and we’re in big trouble.

I wonder how many of last seasons youngsters will be kept on? We’ve seen they don’t have the mental toughness, so are they ditched for another lot (revolving door policy) or are they given another chance?

 

That statement does not fill me with confidence at all, we are going nowhere with these in charge. Everything is being done on the cheap and penny pinching. We are going to be a feeder club, develop young cheap players and hopefully sell them on, Crewe style, all while the chairman line their pockets with the profits. Apart from purchasing the club they will not invest any more of their own money into the club but yet they cannot understand why season tickets sales are down.

I think the article is suggesting that as far as Stuart and Ben were concerned the situation with regards Ben resigning was done he'd agree another 12 moth on same money, he left him with Edin to discus it, the next day Ben signed for Bury so I believe Stuart was implying Edin did not offer the same deal so Ben left for Bury ?, similar to the Luke Hendrie situation.
