In fairness, when fit, he's an incredibly effective option. He'd certainly have been a regular in the national squad had he been able to stay injury free.

I agree but O'Donnell hasn't even been bad. A shaky month or so despite being good for the majority of the season and now he's apparently shite.

Not a rumour as such but Jermaine Beckford is out of contract at Bury this year.

8 in 16 for them last year, 6 foot 2 and mobile. He certainly fits the description of what Bowyer was targeting.

I think we need to be looking at the likes of Paul McCallum, 25, Eastleigh.

Scored 26 goals this season, and surely will want to step up a division to League Two.

Better going for those who are striving to improve than journeymen and has-been's looking to collect a wage.

 

It’s good signing those types but we don’t want a full squad of them. He would be a good addition.

How about James Norwood at tranmere? Contract up in summer I believe and we can offer him a good wedge in wages with no fee involved if the club are serious?

23 goals in conference and 27 now this season? Got a point to prove and at 28 now the right age for a last punt at a bigger club?

No idea to be honest, I've not seen him play but Gary Jones was mobile enough at that age so it isn't beyond the realms of possibility.

Why do you honestly believe he's a realistic target now when he wasn't even closer to being a realistic target in the division above?

Doyle won't be here next season. He's already got offers on the table from league one and I doubt we'll fight too hard to keep him.

If rigor mortis hasn't set in he's still more mobile than Doyle.

I think you are probably right to be honest, but I do think we have never really seen the best of him. Had he played alongside a Charlie Wyke or a tall forward capable of holding the ball or knocking it down for Doyle, then it might have been a completely different season.
