Why will he be a "big miss"?

All he does is protect his position by staunchly defending anything news related that the club puts out.

There's no 'revelations', nothing we can't read in the T&A and I doubt anyone was engrossed in the gloating about attending games during lockdown.

If he wants to post on here almost as the forums "official voice of the club" then he should be bright enough and strong enough to expect the criticism and questions when things don't go so well and not run off and hide because he isn't getting his belly tickled.

In fact, he seems very much like Ryan Sparks in that regard who was hugely active on social media until the results stopped coming and then all of a sudden its back to the once weekly pre match updates.

I never fail to be amazed that the comparison to absolute basket cases like Bury or Macclesfield is meant to make us feel better. It’s like saying “cheer up, you could be dead” to a patient in an ICU.

Five and a half years ago Stefan Rupp walked in to this club. We were at the pointy end of league one, had one of the most successful managers in our history, there was a great feeling around the place. had a good squad of dedicated players and IIRC the main division amongst fans was “is James Hanson any good?”

Fast forward to December 2021 and we have a fan base who bicker about everything, a year on year decline in league position, it’s depressing to watch us play struggling against the Suttons and Colchesters of the world, we have a squad who by and large look like they don’t give a toss, we’re on our eighth manager in five years and all we can do is say at least we’re not extinct.

And yet there are still people who praise Rupp and maintain if it wasn’t for him keeping the club alive where would we be? It could be worse yes, it could be a whole lot better though.

I have no idea about Wagmi, nobody does, but as a fan base we should stop with the it could be worse we could be extinct trope, stop demanding the names and bank details of an alternative if anyone suggests Rupp sells. Let’s be demanding, let’s stop accepting mediocrity and let’s unite to get Rupp out before the inevitable happens and we slide into non league, because that will kill us.

Would be a good match Rupp and Malik, after all Rupp is taking the club in One Direction

Said at the time, things have been so poor for the last five years I think I’d even take this lot right now - at least it would be generate interest of some sort.
The football just takes the edge off a nice pre match pint these days. The club is dying a slow death as it stands

It’s getting a whole lot worse for him if we don’t get promoted. There’s no way Sparks will shift 14k season tickets for another season of league two football in the style Del Boy has brought to VP.

    https://www.thetelegraphandargus.co.uk/news/19791434.comment-bradford-city-must-send-crypto-crowd-packing/?ref=twtrec

What a strange article this is from Parker. He's bundled an opinion together based on a half hour twitter space conversation in which they took a few questions from fans. He didn't even bother contacting them to have a chat about their plans despite them stating multiple times they are open to such a thing.

And also, where was this level of opposition for Edin whilst he ran the club into the ground for 18 months?

A lot of the kickback from this does appear to be overblown. Simon Parker's article today was a masterclass in not really engaging with the subject matter, commenting purely on the surface level. Almost scaremongering levels.

We've heard time after time how we're an ambitious club and how nothing less than success would be an abject failure and then...nothing happens. It's reasonably obvious that we're relying on the fact that 'we're Bradford City, our sheer might alone will carry us where we want to go'. The gulf between expectation and reality is massive and it's impossible to see how it's going to be breached trundling along as we are.

It's also difficult to see how any conventional form of ownership is ever going to fix this. Football has changed dramatically since the days that a local businessman could turn someone like Bradford City into a team that's going to compete on a meaningful level. That basically leaves Bradford City as a white elephant, seen as a cheap asset with large potential that someone could take a punt on, and little more than that.

I think there are still massive question marks over this takeover that need answering. But to those dismissing it out of hand, what exactly are we waiting for? What's the alternative? As a club, we're literally rotting on the vine.

But Roger wasn't just calling the reaction to individual games hysterical. He criticised fans on here for complaining about our position in the league, for not valuing the positive bank balance, for not believing in the possibility of a playoff push in the second half of the season. He ignored or massively underplayed the slide from the top of L1 under Rupp and the failure to back up the brazen summer promotion promises with the money to get good enough players to achieve that.

The general tenor of his posts was, 'Stop moaning and be grateful for what you've got'. But most supporters are now well beyond grateful. They're heartily pissed off at the years of underachievement, the failure to right wrongs and the absence of controlled risk taking from our wealthy absentee owner. I think it's a shame that Roger has bowed out of this forum, because many of his contributions have been valuable. But to suggest that reasonable criticism of the club is hysterical is just wrong, and taking his bat home because they don't accord with his view is rather childish.

When you next speak to Ryan, can you ask him a question on behalf of the rest if us? He said prior to the start of the season that not achieving promotion this season will be regarded as failure. We are currently on target to become a failing team once again. What is his plan to deal with that when fans vote with their feet and significantly fewer season tickets are sold for next season?

    Thanks

If you can't see the sarcasm in Parader's post it might be for the best that you take a break.

It isn’t an issue because, to the clubs credit, they have improved areas within the stadium. Why would it still be an issue after work has been done? A strange example to use for defending the dross on the pitch and how the club is run.

You’re the closest this forum has to a voice inside the club and instead of respecting the majority view that what is being served is unacceptable you’re doing what the club does best and make excuses and tell the very people who ensure we have a club (the fans) how they should feel about the current atrocity which is how the club is being run from the boardroom right down to the pitch.

    Shame on you.

To be fair a lot of them do a lot of unpaid work for the club whilst others just moan about it. In my opinion @wetherbywhaler@wetherbywhaler will be a big miss on here

Reading that seems to totally contradicts what Rupp has said.

"A deal in principle was agreed"-so Rupp WAS considering selling the club?

We need to know the TRUTH.

If feck all is spent in January, it pains me to say this, but the club can kiss my ST goodbye for next season and I doubt I will be alone in that sentiment.
