Good. At least we’ll be relevant. People fear change, especially when its change they don’t understand.

And I can’t see the league blocking it - crypto will be the next big thing for the game in this country (and Europe) so we could be seen as an ideal ‘test case’.

 

All they need is proof of funds don’t they? Otherwise don’t think the test, tests for anything else?

I agree completely. The exposure this well the club even before the takeover has gone through is probably astronomical compared to now.
Even if they sold NFTs their followers on TikTok or Snapchat they would make a lot of money.

Put it another way, Rupp has taken us down around 30 places in the football league table, with genuine threat of relegation out of the league last season, can it get any worse?

Well, this digital finance thingy seems to have worked in the Basketball world, and also Brentford have also had some kind of analytical financing to get them where they are today.

Although I work in finance, it still goes over my head this stuff.

We would certainly garner a bit of national interest in the footballing world if it comes off.

Not sure it would be as cosy as a Lawn/Baldwin takeover though.

All sounds great. The only thing I’d stress, and can’t emphasise strongly enough (because we speak from bitter experience) - whatever plans you have on the commercial side of the operation, you MUST employ and empower proven football people to run the football operation. Preferably people who’ve seen and led successes at other clubs. And don’t be tied to recruiting people with previous connections to the club - its rarely served us well, and most of our people only know failure, not success.

 

It could open up a world of commercial possibilities. And if we go down the Brentford route of using advanced analytics to recruit players, and tap into the European market, then very happy days!
