I have also been pleased with Wood. He seems to be getting better every game, and he has really taken his chance well since Chicksen got injured.

Mellor had his best game of the season, and is now beginning to look like the player I thought we would be signing after impressing at Blackpool.

O'Connor did far better than I was expecting in midfield, and took his goal well

 

I can’t get my head around the constant criticism of Edin for every single issue with the players.

The fact that our players were totally unfit and tactically not prepared is entirely the fault of the previous management regime. I accept that as chairman, Edin takes some responsibility as he appointed MC and co but surely it’s about 80% MC and 20% Edin at fault.

 

Very strong at home but think we have a chance next week. Few more players back hopefully and a back 4 will help us no doubt.

I was in that block right at the end next to the scum of Manchester with amongst others my young daughter. Because I had her with me, that's the worst experience following City in terms of trouble. There were middle aged meatheads jumping over and randomly hitting whoever was in their way, women and children included. I somehow managed to protect my daughter, but it wasnt pleasant, and the young stewards were frightened to death and did nothing. I managed to urge one of their fans, who I had been having a good friendly chat with over the fence prior to the match, to calm everyone down.

Thankfully, it didnt put my daughter off attending after that, who realised it was a one off, but still, not a nice experience for her and the other young families in the family area, as it was then

 

They have only won 1 game in the last 6, so maybe not as good as everyone thought they would be. I still think they will have too much for us up front. But, you never know, if our fans can create a cup tie mentality and atmosphere, the players may respond well, its a shame Jim O'Brien will miss out, as he would have revelled in this game I reckon

 

Some of the names in that united side, good times getting to see the likes of them turn up at VP.

If so, must have been intimidating for you. As you say there was a load of rough looking meatheads out that day.

Talking about Liverpool supporters. The most intimidating walk back to a car after a game I have ever had was after the 1980 cup tie at Anfield.

Whilst I agree with that the timing of the decision is absolutely ridiculous.

I've only just found out so I'm presuming I have to swap my seat somehow yet I'm working until Saturday dinnertime so will probably have to queue for an hour just to get my ticket so I can queue again at the turnstile.

Why couldn't the club just make an early announcement? We all know Sunderland could sell the whole midland road if we gave it them.

 

There's no change, away clubs get 5% of advance sales to cover their costs with the rest being kept by the home club. Andy Holt later clarified his original Tweet (which said that the EFL had decided to allocate the revenue from away ticket sales to the away club) to say that he was referring to home clubs losing ticket sales to away fans opting to watch the game on iFollow which means that the away clubs get a financial reward but the home club loses out.

 

They filled the initial away allocation. That should have been the end of it. Shouldn't be messing our own fans about for the sake of selling 300 more. Not worth the hassle they are putting our own fans through.

 

Agree with that totally. However, apart from possibly Doyle, we havent got a lot more options, so the side virtually picks itself I would imagine

 

I think the paying supporter in that section has every right to be annoyed dont you, we have enough negativity around the club at the minute stuff like that doe'st help, but if you thinks its OK fine.
I'd suggest this is very much someones fault no forward thinking its hardly rocket science to generate the best income we can from a game against one of the best followed away teams.

 

You would have thought that would be the clubs view on it too but someone has dropped a ball here. We could have had a 20,000+ crowd tomorrow.
