I really thought they were poor. Passed it well in midfield but it got them nowhere and they created next to nothing from open play all game. Their only chances came from good set piece delivery.

Defensively poor too, Miller had their CBs on toast early on and we created more today than in any other game all season, which was down to their poor defensive play rather than anything fantastic from us.

If they are what will finish in the top 6 this season I'm even more angry at Edin as this will have been a massive opportunity missed.

It’s generally the response from fans who sell out the away end on a consistent basis. We’ve been there too.

In reality, they’ll be a handful floating about.

Good set of fans Sunderland. So if a few end up sitting near me in kop, in the ever increasing empty seats, wouldn't bother me, although after seeing them cheer their 3rd or 4th goal, I might change my mind!!

We will win. I know it is against the odds but I can feel it in my bones.

City have always had a habit of doing the unexpected. If someone hasn't won in 20 games we almost always oblige.

Everyone is sure we are going to lose so I reckon this is where our season takes a big fat U-turn.

This is poor planning on the club's part and those affected are right to feel annoyed with such short notice. If using the club's website is the only form of communication to this group of fans, I suspect there'll be more confusion on the day. And it was all avoidable imo and all for just £6k!

Sunderland sell out most allocations even southern midweek games when they haven't won a game in months. As soon as they were relegated the provisions should have been made to give them Midland road and the Bradford End.

Match day! Ok, Sunderland might be a step too far in our progress, but funnily enough I am looking forward to it. Nobody can predict anything at the moment, but here’s hoping we upset a few apple carts at 5pm. I don’t know whether my optimism is returning or whether I just had a great day yesterday, who knows but it should be a great atmosphere, which is always a good thing. I will be there later.

I may have agreed with you last season, some blamed him for everything including the Blackpool tickets getting ruined due to a leak which is just ridiculous.

But for the Collins appointment he deserves far more than 20% of the blame. He was the one who said we had quality candidates and I'm sure we did, but they didn't fancy it for whatever reason. If he'd have hired someone like a Grayson, Parkinson, McCall or McCann and we'd have been so woefully unfit and un-organised then I'd agree with you. But the fact is he hired someone not up to the job, and as the gaffer the buck has to Stop with him. If I got a new job in a junior position then a few months later the director promotes me to a manager position, either because he wants someone cheap to save money or because he's a nightmare to work for, who deserves the flack if the company starts to go backward under my un-qualified watch?

I know what most respected business men would say, and football's a business.

I didn't say it was but the planning and timing is amateur at best.

We knew the fixtures in July and, also in July, we knew that Sunderland would have been able to exceed their initial allocation. It wouldn't have taken take a great deal of planning to give people at least a week to get new tickets sorted.

Also, lets not forget this is for only 300 tickets so I'd guess about 7 or 8 grand in total. Is that really worth the hassle? If they'd have planned it and moved the whole Midland Road it would have certainly made sense. This way? I'm not so sure.

Good grief, why could they not have made the seats for the Sunderland supporters available much earlier? For sure there are spare seats for City fans and they can easily offer alternatives within VP.

I struggle to understand inability to have a reasonable degree of forward planning.

The only other side which is likely to bring those sort of large numbers is Portsmouth, so perhaps City need to start thinking about it now as that is 3rd November.

I agree but the point is that all the inconvenience is laid squarely at the door of the customer that's already paid and the club just silently pockets the profits.

Makes sense to try and accommodate as many away fans as possible. Would have probably made more sense to organise it a couple of weeks before the game rather than a couple of days, it was clear from other Sunderland games that they could easily sell out their allocation so leaving it late was always going to inconvenience a number of supporters. No big deal to me but then i don't sit in that stand. Personally wish they had given them the whole stand.

It will be the only time bar a cup game that we will get this problem. In essence the club might arguably think they have done the right thing but surely they would have known about this option when the tickets were first allocated. It was plainly obvious to anyone that Sunderland could easily sell way more than the usual top allocation given to other clubs so why not allocate these tickets with the initial allocation.
Only a small criticism in the grand scheme of things but sometimes the club don't help themselves when it comes to planning. Could and should have been handled better.
