We've used the loan market to pad out the squad in recent times, rather than bring in players to fulfill a specific role in the first team. Hosannah might be the exception to that, but injury derailed his contribution.

A couple of talented young players, on loan, that are capable of contributing through the season would make a massive difference. Pretty confident that Hughes, Hodges and Gent will be able to identify the calibre of player we need.

So he will walk away with the remaining year of his contract. You have just said it again , so it’s NOT good business, or are you suggesting he’s going to say to City, keep > £100,000 you owe me for next seasons wages…PLAYING OR NOT.

Very true but he didn’t “ use” them properly . Wrong formation , constantly injured . Says an awful lot about Adams’s style , compared to Hughes/ Hodges. The latter have transformed their “worth” and self belief individually Dave. They are different players all round with the probable exception of Walker, who was good to start with, despite Adams.

 

That would all depend on the buying club. If no fee were involved, they may be happy to simply take on his contract. No sense in letting him go if we remain financially liable for his full contract, but I don't think that's how it works. There'd almost certainly be some sort of settlement.

 

So you are happy to confirm we are liable for the remaining one year of his contract. Thank you. How it is settled is a different matter.

 

Wouldn't be surprised to see a keeper come in on loan.

I expect Hughes wk expect us to play with a keeper who can pass and I'm not sure that accurate passing is much of a skill that league two keepers focus on.

 

As it stands, yes we're liable for any contract we've agreed. And yes, if he goes, there'll be haggling on any fee and wage terms from both clubs. Pretty standard. Difficult to gauge these things from the outside as we don't know what he's on, on who we're interested in and what our targets are.

 

At a guess £2,500 per week?

 

Plus an additional 60%.

 

How many season tickets have we moved so far for next season ?.

 

Just over 5000.

People knocking George miller need to give their head a Shake. 12 Goals for the season isn’t a bad number and he will cover every blade of grass up top. He chases everything, it will cause league two defenders to make mistakes because let’s be honest, most of them are shite.
He is the perfect striker to play a high press. If we do re-sign Vernam they will cause a lot of problems.

 

You his agent? If we’re going for promotion he’s not good enough we need better!

 

Totally agree we need this kind of player, someone with the engine of Stuart McCall.
