I have really liked Sutton since he signed him but he hasn’t been the same player since his illness. Gillead has owned the that place

 

Gilled has no attacking threat in any bone in his body. It is not possetion that counts but what you do with it. Until we get injuries back he is the only midfield player that passes forward instead of sideways and backwards making our forwards denied of the ball

Hughes doesn't expect any ins or out from his midday presser.

Worth remembering the none league window is still open after today. Could well see our squad fillers leave at any time in the next few months if one of those teams offer the right sort of deal for a player who cant get in the matchday squad. The likes of Angol, Sutton, Eisa who look to be very very far down the pecking order in their positions.

 

What has Hendrie got to do with the midfield general and unlocker of defences Mr Sutton?

 

Thank you . Gilly has progressed around MH and his position alongside Smallwood and hats off to him for doing so. Sutton has regressed, for reasons we know not. Clearly he’s fit enough but passing, ball retention and his overall play has gone backwards in my opinion. The fact that many seem to suggest he’s surplus to requirements supports it. I’d like him to stay but he won’t get much time on the grass other than cover for lots of injuries. If MH wants him then great.

 

I agree with this, a goal would do him a power of good and hopefully the 2 additions today will help us play to his strengths - lets be honest we now have massive options to utilise the 5 subs most effectively and I am pretty certain all the players wiil have a part to play for us to have the season we all are hoping for. Injuries and loss of form are an inevitable part of football and we look ready to cope with these

Unbelievably I agree with a lot of that....other than the surplus to requirements bit. We are still short in centre mid in my opinion

 

Let’s see who plays the most. I am not bothered who as long as they are effective at BOTH ends of the field.MH is the arbiter. Let’s see.

 

I honestly don't believe there's much difference between Sutton, Gillead or East. It wouldn't bother me who starts alongside Smallwood and I was genuinely hoping one of the signings was someone who could fill the hole that these 3 haven't quite been able to.

It will be horses for courses, depending on the opposition . With everyone fit in that area Sutton would be likely taking a back seat . I hope I’m wrong but I just see others being technically better.

 

Can't disagree with any of that either. For what its worth, I think Halliday has been a bit disappointing and no improvement on Hendrie, but accept he might improve. I don't think Sutton is a starter this year and seems to have lost something. But the one thing he still does is give and go and make those runs into the box. None of our other CMs are prepared to do that and I think its an attribute MH likes. I think he'll be a regular off the bench

 

I take it you didn’t see his “goal line clearance” on Tuesday?
