DA praising Gareth Evans today and says that sees him in a central midfield role. Perhaps that one position we no longer need to address then, and concentrate on bringing a striker in?

Quite right. A team which is strong down the left naturally target someone without it being tactical. Now if you said to me, so and so has played 3 games on the right but for that one game, they moved to the left I would say ok but no-one hasn't.

He hadn't looked good as a winger but did look good in centre midfield against Oldham so happy with that

I'll take 3 conceeded games if we continue to yield 10 points from 12. On a serious, it would be nice to solidify at the back but at what expense to the offensive side of our game?

I hope if he is missing then that’s all it is. However I think he’s been excellent so far

If that’s true fine, have you watched all their games? Dedication to the cause if so.

Yes it was noticeable, especially in the 2nd half that Mansfield were doubling up on Finn and he wasn't getting much support. However I should imagine it didn't go unnoticed by Adams. Having said that Vernan gave them a seeing to down their right as Clough jnr pointed out after the game.

People are always looking for negatives the fact is FCD has stood up well as Threkelds deputy and is gaining experience all the time

People are not always looking for negatives in the sense you mean it.

Where we can improve is a better phrase.

In technical management circles , it’s called a S.W.O.T analysis.

People like Sparks, Adams and our own Wetherby W will know exactly what I mean.

An extremely useful tool if administered and acted upon properly.

Why do you think clubs “ scout” the opposition . All conducive to determining the strengths, weaknesses, opportunities and threats of an up-coming game for example.

Having only seen the highlights from Saturday cannot really comment on that game but the one before FCD got very little cover from the midfield. There was acres of space in front of him where, presumably, Gilleard should have been covering. Instead he was playing almost centrally as the whole axis of our team moved leftwards. No doubt Adams would have seen this and either it was as instructions or he was happy for the team to play like that. I am sure if he did not like what he was seeing then instructions would have been sent out.

So, Lee Angol's injury hasn't been assessed because the Consultant is on holiday?!?!

Sounds like the job's stopped because the medic is on his jollies! I had to read it twice to make sure I wasn't dreaming it. I find it hard to believe there is nobody else in the Leeds/Bradford area, with the expertise, to review it.

It does seem a bit odd, but given it's the same hamstring that kept him out for a big chunk of last season, I wonder if they want the consultant that treated him then to look at it. That's the only logical conclusion I can think of anyway.
