I don't buy into it that they don't know regarding Angols injury, my guess is they know full well he's out long term but don't want to declare that as public knowledge until the transfer window shuts as it could potentially push up any targets values as it makes us look a bit more desperate.

Fair point but I guess it depends on who we are looking at to bring in. If we are looking at a loan then I don't think it will make a lot of difference but if we are trying to tempt a club to part with a player we need to pay a fee for, then yes, you could be right.

Totally agree Petrov. I suffered a really complex leg break and my recovery was thanks to using the same consultant who really understood the history and detail of my case. I trusted him completely. If I was Angol in the same situation, I'd wait til he finished his hols.

Well they didn't do such a great job last time or he wouldn't be injured again. I'd be looking elsewhere.

Thought Steve just did knees and joints in general. I'm not sure if hamstrings would be part of that or not?

Yes, I guess he'll be out a long time, probably for the duration of his contract. Such a shame for the lad as he was doing well and enjoying life at City. As we saw with Zeli Ismail, once you're susceptible to these type of injuries, they are career restricting.

I think even a loan nowadays is even more relevant as it comes down to what percentage of players wages is paid in a lot cases, and with a lot of the wages higher up the tree even small percentages can be worth a small fortune to a L2 club.

There lies a problem. Think this is the 5th time it has happened in the last 2 years. An Orient fan said that this would happen very early on.

Hahaha I thought the same! Gotta love league two football. Imagine it somewhere else. Pep: "Well, Kevin we're still unsure about. We'd love him to play in the Champions League Final, but the physio has promised his wife that he'll take her to Minehead this weekend, so we'll have to wait til he comes back so he can have a look at it. He said he'd bring us back a stick of rock to make up for it".

Let's hope the consultant doesn't have to quarantine, otherwise Adams is going to have to wait another 14 days!

If it’s someone like Lee Angol, how about famous director Ang Lee?

Think we know how long he is out for but now its just about double checking and getting the best advice we can.

Would you say we target the right back because we think he’s weak or is it a case that Vernham is flying at the moment and is linking up well with Ridehalgh, so we get the ball to them when we can? I think it’s the latter and this could also be the case for others sides who have flying left wingers and left backs. I don’t think it necessarily means they’re targeting FCD, more playing to their own strengths.

In answer to your question….both. Why do we and every other team on the planet, scout out the opposition…to look for their weak spots. If we identify, in advance their right side is weak and knowing Vernam is playing well then that’s a double boost.

I think scouting is mainly used to assess what system they’re likely to play and how we counteract that first and foremost. Also the defensive side of things such as their set pieces and patterns of play. We’ll also look at how we can hurt them too and this will probably identify weaker players. If the right back is weak I wouldn’t imagine we’ll target him and leave Vernham as a bit part player in the match.

Sometimes I feel a PEST analysis is more appropriate here...
