Doyle is 36 years old and played under 30 games since leaving us. Was he even that good in his spell here?

Im ok with that as long as our budget is invested heavily in them 7 and not thinned out so we can bring in 10. Not required.

Cook, Songo'o amd Threlkeld would be a decent start.

 

He’s 25 next month, I wouldn’t have minded him staying but I’m not that bothered about him signing for Orient, he’s not that good.

 

I like Hornby. Our defence always seemed much calmer and less panicked in front of him than with O'Donnell.

 

Abo Eisa hasn't been signed yet.

He could be an ideal player.

Probably L1 bound though.

Like I care what you think, it was a reply to @Kevin1954 who mentioned the black lad at Morecambe, if I'd not posted his name it would have been acceptable to you, ffs give it a rest.

 

I bet Adams’ first sentence doesn’t involve telling us how good the opposition are.

 

I don't understand the mentality around accepting us signing players that are considered 'back up'
We should be signing players capable of competing for places in the starting 11 every week not simply because the first choice is out injured.
When I read or hear terms like 'back up' or 'bench warmer' it seems we're accepting mediocre players playing for this club. If there's doubts about a players ability to perform in a position then we shouldn't be signing them.

 

All the incomings need to be good enough to be starters and better than what we had last season if we want to bridge such a big gap to automatic promotion.

 

Canavan is promotion quality, I'm not looking for perfect players, I know that he's pretty slow but he's a unit and while the defence struggled towards the end of the season, we saw him come in and improve the defence right away.

Paudie I believe has a ton of potential, we've seen glimpses of it, he's a blood and thunder player who puts it all on the line but has shown mental lapses and temperament issues - again, not looking for perfect players, you don't find them at League Two, but this is a division where NKP and Kelvin Mellor are good enough for promotion and in my mind Paudie and Canavan are better than those.

If Adams can organise this side properly and we cut out the incessant failure to win headers from deep crosses, which seemed to be every other goal, then I think our defence will be solid.

Or at least, has the potential to be rock solid.

I just don't think there will be a better pairing, though a few teams will have something equivalent in terms of ability I'm sure.

 

Sonogo passed his medical yesterday, so that should be announced soon.

 

They are back training this time next week (Dust if the binoculars @Bronco ) and Adams says he wants the majority of the squad in place so this week is going to be a busy and interesting one

 

Get a grip fellas.We do have in Adams, a man manager who is proven at moulding ordinary players into a capable unit . So less pessimism and more of up the City new era optimism!

 

I know it's radical and probably a bit far fetched but perhaps the "delay" might be because he hasn't actually signed yet?

The ITKs on here haven't exactly had a great record with rumours so far.

 

I think you could class Vaughan and Doyle as proven strikers we’ve signed. The tactics we used at the time didn’t benefit their game.

 

Surely even the travelling fraternity , would not set up camp on there. After all its a crappy school football pitch.
With no facilities at all.
