I agree we're weaker than last season up front, Lee Novak to me appears to be a much better striker than anyone we have in reserve this season or had in reserve last season.

We've probably replaced Clayton, but we haven't replaced Novak yet.

which is, there is a player who is OPEN to offers, and we could have been one of the teams but looks like we havnt made an effort to sign him, when he himself told me if the offer is right he would defo look at coming to city

Wyke was hit & miss

Nahki Wells wasnt proven when we signed him

Neither was Hanson

We didnt score any goals for ten seasons before that haaha

 

I think if we'd appointed Wellens instead of Adams, we'd have been more likely to have made a move for McAleny.

But we've chosen Adams, and so hard working 6' + strikers seems to be the way forward.

Hey, it worked for Parky, it might work for Adams, but I would've done whatever I could have to have brought Wellens to the club.

 

You have to start asking questions about Bradford City's REAL financial problems. Adams worked on a tight budget hence why Sparks wanted him.

Let's see when Sparks stops his positive PR dance and the truth comes out where this club really is at.

It's not as if the signings we have made are something to dance about.

All you've done is picked out a few links to posts out of nearly 200 pages where rumours have named players we've now signed.

As the old saying goes, "if you throw enough sh1t at the wall ........."

What real financial problems? We are still in a global pandemic and we have spent money improving the ground. Didnt we spend a few quid on fees in January too???

City voted against the salary cap last season. That doesnt seem the behaviour of a team with real financial issues. If we had real financial problems we would be touting Cooke, Watt and Paudie, players we could command a fee for around. Not saying we wouldnt sell if an offer came in but surely they would be made available to gain some interest?

The players we let go were let go for the right reasons. I didnt see any financial desperation in them releases.

More hysteria......our business isnt complete yet.

 

I think you could class Vaughan and Doyle as proven strikers we’ve signed. The tactics we used at the time didn’t benefit their game.

 

We've very rarely done well with "proven" strikers. Even going back to the John McGinlay and Jorge Cadete days.

 

True but he could only manage 20-25 games per season so signing someone available for a full season is pretty much an instant improvement.

No space in the budget for water carriers.

 

Wyke had a decent L2 record, it paid off.

Thorne only other I can think of that did ok.

 

Doyle

 

When we see the accounts we will know.

It will be mad not to think we didn’t make a loss last season.

I brloebe Watt will be sold. Won’t get anything for Cooke or Praudie (both not that great) Let’s not forget at the back end we are selling good youth players.

I’m not saying we are broke but only a fool wouldn’t think that Adam is here because he can work on right budgets.

Or maybe its Adams ability to promote teams - Ross County, Plymouth, Morecombe.....if he can do it with a smaller budget great. Added bonus.
