More chance of him getting the Scotland job.

 

Don’t gloss over the fact that in his first season he basically got a bye because of who he was. The second he had a great budget got us into a great position but when the slump came he couldn’t stop that. Then bombed again before leavening. In his second spell he did well until the end where he bombed with his tactics in the play off final. Then in his last season once again when the slump came he admitted he had no idea how to stop it

 

If you can tell me which relegated L2 team Stuart got immediate promotion, with a toxic board to cope with, then you might have a point


Stuart has the dubious record of leading two clubs to spells of five defeats or more, in the same calendar year, but yeah let's get rid of a manager who built the foundation blocks for that Blackpool team, from a L2 team and bring Stu pot back

This thread almost makes up for Saturday.

Kindly note, I was a fan of him coming back and backed him right up to that Peterborough farce of 15 months ago. Then I started having doubts. Please wakeup and smell the coffee or at least read the virtual unanimous Scunny fans supporting his sacking

I'd say he has answered that quite well no refusal to answer or debate.

 

I'll say this much - his managerial record is up for debate - I think it's pretty good, all things considered, other people don't.
what I don't particularly like is making out like he's got John Barnes' record or something.

he's done good jobs in a couple of positions, even if he has ultimately not delivered promotions or trophies as yet.

it's reasonable to not want him back as a manager - and BigRod articulated that very well - with very reasonable points. coming on here and saying "he's an abject failure as manager that's why I don't want him back" just isn't very fair to him, and is patently untrue.

Not been impressed with Bowyer so far but would not swap him for McCall, As much as Bowyer has had a so so start he may just be the one to rebuild the playing side

 

How dare they speak about Stuart like that?! I'm sure a few people on here, ahummm, will be crying themselves to sleep tonight knowing people can say such mean things.....

 

I think @Ricc has a shrine for Stuart in his bedroom to fall asleep next to at night. Never seen someone react so up tight about a ex manager. You wouldn't be like this regarding Jacko would you, who some people can argue, is the same as Stuart in regards to playing for City.

McCall as a player - legend.
McCall as a manager - at best, average.

Get over it!

 

Can you imagine @Ricc if McCall achieved a fraction of what Parkinson has done as a manager?

 

Ricc I am absolutely convinced you are on a wind up when you talk about Stuart. @Aaron Baker put the facts in front of you and you decided you couldn't win an argument so got abusive, it's a fact that Stuart hasn't been successful as a manager.

 

I agree, dismissing his role at Motherwell did make me laugh. And certainly his second spell at City very nearly added to what is a magnificent career at Bradford.
His tactics can be found wanting at times, just like any manager and there are flaws to his management thay seem to be clear when the wheels start to fall off.
But definitely worth a punt for any club looking for a new manager.

 

and Stuart took us one step further than Parkinson did. we can all play that game.

Sacrilege ! seriously ? you'd side with Bowyer head of Stuart as far as "Our City" are concerned ? ..Bowyer only bungled into the Play-offs with Blackpool there's nothing that gives me any inkling that Bowyer is the right man to take us forward in League 2 ? He's failing on all counts now with some very basic asks I set him and that didn't include keeping us up !. Have another go for mercies sake ? Say Evans if not Stuart but as much as I happen to think Bowyer is a decent chap ! He's not a decent option for us in our state. We will only be changing come mid season when it's clear we are just as poor in the Dog n Gun League !

 

I'm on the side of whoever will improve our situation, whether they be a complete stranger or someone who has played for us for years. I''ll turn it back on you, what makes you think McCall is the right man to take us forward in League 2? He didn't last time did he? He couldn't even bungle into the playoffs, let alone get us promoted.

 

God NO.... he's to much of a distraction. Our fans living in the past.

 

On the plus side, we won’t be bothered about beating Scunny

 

I know but I like having these fantasies; my latest one is that we will win the next two and avoid relegation. I am sick at the moment some virus bug that I have picked up, but I dragged myself out of my sick bed to watch that yesterday!
