love him to bits but he isn't actually a good manager

Fordy will probably put his name forward as his 10th pick this week.

No no no no no no no, this club is forever going backwards and looking in to the past just to keep the sentimental ones happy.

I'm very sorry to hear this !. Stuart or Gary Bowyer it's not even a debate is it ? ..Stuart is a unifer and right now that's what this club needs someone who we can all get behind and know he has our interests at the very heart. I'd make a move tomorrow and reinstall him it would sure as hell get everyone back on board and raise the optimism levels for the hard task ahead next season. Nothing Stuart doesn't know or doesn't understand about "Our City" ! Bring Back our Living Legend please !

Oh ffs.
Not this again.
Are we ever going to get over this?Inspector, Carts #CTID, EdwinB and 5 others like this. -
I said it when he was sacked, and I'll say it now. If this wasn't Stuart and we was looking at any other managers record the same as Stuart's, NO ONE would be calling for us to sign him. This is all sentimental. It's time to go for proven records, not sentiment.

Yes please, imagine the uplifting effect on everyone and everything connected to the club.

Probably the worse thing that could have happened in so many ways.
A) scunny will probably galvanise
B) we go behind on saturday and there will be morons shouting "stuart, stuart, stuart.
C) completely muddies the waters with regards next year. Most seemed happy (upto saturday) that bowyer was ideal for next year
D) 75 width of a post articles explaining why mccall should be the next permanent managerboltonroad, Carts #CTID, TallinnBantam and 4 others like this. -
some people could learn a lot from this post.
there IS a way to say you wouldn't want McCall back as manager without slagging him off, under miming his achievements and being completely disrespectful.

Talk to me about McCall as a player or as a person and I'll wax lyrical. Talk to me about McCall as a manager and I'll explain why he ticks none of the boxes on which I judge their abilities. I simply think you can't separate the different aspects.
If we want to talk irrational agendas shall we mention a manager who has actually achieved things in the game and given us all some of the best moments of our Bradford City lives but you seem to hate? Now that's irrational.BradfordBanter, Andy10, brisbanebantams and 3 others like this. -
In an ideal world id take Parky as manager, Mccall as Assistant and Gary Jones with a new role of Attitude Coach

it's amazing to me the amount of crap I get on here just for having the gall to like Stuart McCall.
how dare I love, respect and support a bloke that is the biggest legend this club has ever had. who would do anything for the club, which a damn sight more than we can say for anyone at the club currently.
Stuart McCall is just like you and me, and yet I'm getting pelters for daring to voice my opinion that I love him.Jayteebee, Budgie, Morley Bantam and 2 others like this. -
I think inferring that he doesn't deserve any respect as a manager is in its self disrespectful.
I don't think we should under estimate the job he did with Motherwell, who are as unfashionable and absolutely flat broke as you can get. 3rd place, and 2 second places, Semi Final of the Scottish league Cup, and final of the Scottish Cup, and of course going into European competition.
all this with losing key players every single summer and having to replace them. that's no easy feat. you don't see them, or indeed any equivalent Scottish team doing the same. the likes of Aberdeen and Hearts have more resources and are bigger clubs than Motherwell ever were.
and I, and many others think he did a terrific job back here - operating under the regime of the single most inept, megalomaniac crazy delusional club owner ever - and he got us to within minutes of a promotion to the Championship. that summer he lost all his best players from that squad, had to replace them on a lower budget, with players foisted upon him by aforementioned idiot, and had them in the play off places all season, until he was sacked. his replacement Simon Grayson who is lauded as a promotion expert in this division lost most of his matches in charge and couldn't get anywhere near the results Stuart managed to produce with them.
whether you would want him back or not, lets not pretend he's some sort of perennial failure as a manager when it simply isn't the case.Daisy Mcniven, Bronco, Morley Bantam and 2 others like this. -
I’d absolutely love it. Not a chance though.

Twice in under 14 months. No excuses this time, he was supported in January by their owner but has failed to get a tune. Not sure where he goes from here, maybe back to Scotland.
