Get real mate did you see their second goal? O'connor literally ran away from the attacker. How does a manager stop that from happening?

There isnt one decent manager in the UK that could turn this shower of proverbial around. Blaming the manager is not the answer.

Not sure what you expected him to do at Sheffirld United he was Warnocks assistant I believe ?.
You quote "Regardless of what happened last time with Rahic" I find it difficult to try and take Rahic out of that particular debate, what owner right in their heads would want a sack a manager who in his first season at the club, took us a step further than Phil Parkinson could, even the most ardent Rahic fans would find that scenario a little difficult to explain.
He split support unlike Collins, Grayson, Hopkin and possibly Bowyer that just shows how highly he was thought of by the majority of Bradford City fans.
I'm sure Stuart will know if he believes his future in the game is only as an assistant.
Its going to be an interesting few months, I dont think the club would ask him again for his services, possibly as well that us fans don't have any in put to the appointment of our next manager.

I don't think S Mc is the man for the job. However, I find your remarks OTT, and disrespectful

it's amazing to me the amount of crap I get on here just for having the gall to like Stuart McCall.

how dare I love, respect and support a bloke that is the biggest legend this club has ever had. who would do anything for the club, which a damn sight more than we can say for anyone at the club currently.

Stuart McCall is just like you and me, and yet I'm getting pelters for daring to voice my opinion that I love him.

Bronco, Mostly can't and won't disagree. However, my final point on this, would be that I believe that the fact that we hold Stuart in such high regard blinds us to his faults and means we are willing to accept mediocrity from him because he is 'Stuart'.

It's been said in this thread. Anyone other than Stuart we wouldn't have brought him back the first time never mind even contemplate a third time!

No you're right. it's not as if he took us to Wembley, and had a much inferior team in the play off positions the following season until some deluded idiot sacked him for no reason, and since then we've literally been the worst team in the country is it....?

    oh wait.

Come on mate, dry your eyes.

I don't think you get crap. You just take it personally when people point out that his overall record suggests that he's not a very good manager.

I find the vitriol Stuart gets on here disgraceful and completely disrespectful. anyone would think he was Edin Rahic which some of the shit he gets.

It's not vitriol to point out he that his record doesn't reflect a good manager. Great player, amazing guy. Not a successful manager. It happens.

You're way too sensitive when it comes to this.

    I respectfully disagree.

he shouldn't have been sacked, and the correct and sensible thing to do would be to rehire him for next season.

the thing is bronco, if mccall was to come back for a third spell as manager - how long do people and the club give him to get things right? as long as it takes which could be years or do we judge him like every other manager?

some people would have him as unsackable no matter what happened simply because of who he is.

how long would you give him to get it right ricc? as long as it takes? imagine he comes back and 3 seasons later we’ve had no promotion, do we sack him? any other manager probably would be.

    Stu will be back
I wouldn't even use that as detail of how the club was when he left. I'd give him the credit of losing play-off finalist, anything after that had full hands on idiot interference, it's amazing we weren't rock bottom then.

3 seasons is extreme. but knee jerk sackings based on 5 bad results probably isn't a good idea.
if we play a full season or 18 months and find ourselves in the lower reaches of League 2, then fair enough. move on.

I'm not sure how you can disagree? His career speaks for itself.

5 jobs, 11 years, zero promotions, zero big wins, zero clubs left in a better league position. I don't know what you're clinging to that shows he's good? It's the record of a mediocre to poor manager and if you didn't love him so much there would be no reason at all to put him in consideration. No other failed Scunthorpe manager gets a mention for the job.

Whether he should have been fired or not is debatable (I wouldn't have done but his result immediately preceding his firing certainly didn't help him) but whether being fired a couple of games too early makes him worth of being rehired I seriously doubt.
