Stuart return?

that’s 12-18 months that a manager with a track record of getting promotion from league two could’ve been given. something mccall doesn’t have.

you yourself keep saying the club need ambition and need to do better, not settle for ‘failure’ or not aim for promotion, people shouldn’t be happy just to have a club to support yet your advocating for a manager with no promotion track record over one that does and simply being happy to have a manager just because of his name.

if mccall wanted to come in and work with the club to get a vision for where we want to be and the ‘project’ (i hate that term) for going forward, in a director of football position then that could work. but not as a manager again, as inevitably at some point whether it’s through sacking, quitting like his first spell or leaving for a bigger job - he’ll leave again.

 

Whether Stuart was to be given a third attempt at City, I don't really care that much.
However, I do see some posters are keen to criticise his record in charge of City.
In his first tenure as manager we were on course for the league two play-offs minimum, until Omar Daley gor a long term injury, from that our form plummeted.
Second tenure, as well documented, after play-of final the megalomaniac decided no matter what Stuart did, his days were numbered.
Quite unlucky was Stu, yes limited in some aspects, however has he the ability to bring success to us, yes with a bit of luck for a change ( that all successful managers need to a degree, Sir Alex at Ipswich).
However, as I say I'm not fussed either way.

 

I can't disagree mate it was one massive handicap trying to manage/coach the players with Rahic sat on his shoulder watching every move.

 

There's no guarantee either way what would have happened. It's debatable whether an injury to Omar Daley torpedoed our season, I don't view it that was an incident which shouldn't have been recoverable from. He was hardly Nahki Wells. I'm sure all managers have injuries during the season to contend with.

Of course there are things that could have played out differently, that's speculation though, the cold hard facts of his career show that he shouldn't be given any more consideration than any other run of the mill lower league manager with no achievements.

 

More chance of him getting the Scotland job.

 

I have always thought McCall was better suited to a coach, or assitant, working closely with the players all week. I still retain that view

Don’t gloss over the fact that in his first season he basically got a bye because of who he was. The second he had a great budget got us into a great position but when the slump came he couldn’t stop that. Then bombed again before leavening. In his second spell he did well until the end where he bombed with his tactics in the play off final. Then in his last season once again when the slump came he admitted he had no idea how to stop it

Stuart has the dubious record of leading two clubs to spells of five defeats or more, in the same calendar year, but yeah let's get rid of a manager who built the foundation blocks for that Blackpool team, from a L2 team and bring Stu pot back

This thread almost makes up for Saturday.

Kindly note, I was a fan of him coming back and backed him right up to that Peterborough farce of 15 months ago. Then I started having doubts. Please wakeup and smell the coffee or at least read the virtual unanimous Scunny fans supporting his sacking
