Stuart return?

Yes granted, I'm only 22, so have never seen Stuart play, but I'm in the 17th year of being a season ticket holder now, just missed out on the premiership years, but from the managers I have seen in my time, Stuart offers very little compared to others. He never will be a very good manager, yes if he came back in some capacity I wouldn't be unhappy, but as a manager? That ship has sailed well and truly, never to return hopefully.

he did an incredible job at Motherwell and really well here before Rahic fired him. his CV has more hits than misses.

Ricc I am absolutely convinced you are on a wind up when you talk about Stuart. @Aaron Baker put the facts in front of you and you decided you couldn't win an argument so got abusive, it's a fact that Stuart hasn't been successful as a manager.

 

well if getting Motherwell (of all clubs) into the Champions League isn't a success, and getting a City squad that had 7 players and no backroom staff when he took over to a play off final isn't a success then i don't really know what is.

What happened in the final . As for Motherwell other than Celtic there was no competition. Don’t forget his spell at Rangers where despite him being a former player they didn’t want him to stay on

 

did a decent job at Rangers too.

we lost to an offside goal, and due to an excellent save from the Milwall keeper. we were the better team in that final.

he also had last season's team in the play off positions. thats the same team that showed relegation form under the "excellent in league one" manager Simon Grayson.

I truly believe that SM is becoming at worst toxic and at best devisive and we need to move on from him.

Put him into the history section as an ex player and ex manager that we can look back at with some gratitude and pride, as a player, and some gratitude, disappointment and regret, as a manager. Pretty much like Bradford City!

 

my problem is the likes of Park and Aaron going on like he's the worst manager we've ever had or something, as I said yesterday, anyone would think he had the record of John Barnes in management or something.

I'm just pointing out where he has done well. it's not entirely negative, he does have some jobs well done on his CV.

 

Forgetting to mention what was it 7 defeats in a row before his sacking. Stuart over the five seasons he has had with us has had what no over manager will ever get with us patience. In his first spell second year we had a great chance of progression a big budget big gates and he wasted a golden opportunity and when he left in that case it was all Mark Lawns fault

Okay. I'm going to end this argument because it is going nowhere and is getting personal.

some people wouldn't take Stuart McCall back as a manager, other people (myself included) would. that's fine.
I personally think it's fairly clear that Stuart has indeed done quite well in at least a couple of his managerial positions, and if you think he hasn't then that's your opinion but I find it a strange view, and leads me to believe you either have something against McCall for some reason, or have a very strange take on what makes a decent manager.

I think if you read back across your responses you may well find that you are being incredibly defensive about SM.

You accept no criticism of him at all. Any failures are the responsibility of others and any success is due to him and him alone.

There is no objectivity in your arguments for him and it does seem that you will not allow any view that does not fit into the Great Player, Great Manager view you have of him.

In my opinion and I would dare to say most people's (Inc those outside of BCFC) he was a great player and is an average to poor manager.
