Scunthorpe are probably the only team in the league who are worse than us defensively.
McCardle is not the player he was for us and they ship.goals.
They are better going forward though and do score goals

Stuart will get my applause prior to kick off.

From there, I want the intensity, drive and energy witnessed in the last two home league wins. Don't care about Scunthorpe.

A must imo for this game is not to lose. We have still defensive frailties, which will be exposed from time to time. A win would be a perfect Christmas tonic.

They've only scored 1 goal in their last 5 games.

9 losses in 13 is tough to recover from. Especially when he had very good results when he first went, it shows the players are capable of better.

Get in their faces from kick off, get them camped back towards their goal. Conceeded 13 in last 6 games...get in front early with their probable confidence and may just see out a valuable win.

If Stuart is still there next week, then another defeat for them could be the final straw.
Not sure where his career could go from there.
So sad but City come first.

I don't think I can get my head around this one. To each their own I suppose.

We need to catch Scunthorpe and get out of the bottom four. No room for sentiment.

We've had one good result. Let's not start taking it for granted that we're safe. Lose on Saturday and we're potentially deep in the shit again.

If Stuart got sacked he may look to being a coach rather than a manager and possibly look to Scotland again for a position.

Very odd. I cannot get my head around the fact you would be happy with a single point so as not to upset Stuart and maybe give him a stay of execution for another week.
Personally, I will give him a round of applause before the game, but after that I hope we see our boys come out on top similar to yesterday, so for me, I would love to see us win 4-0

That would be a nightmare I have to agree, but being the total optimist I think there's more chance of us storming up the league and missing the play-offs by a single point :)

I have to agree, it's one of the oddest comments I've read on here.

Nah. After three decades Stuart is like an old friend. I wouldn't want to put an old friend out of a job just so that I could have a victory. If it was the last match of the season and we needed to win to stay up, then definitely, but at this stage in the season I'd rather draw and see Stuart keep his job until the January transfer window opens that give them a 4-0 thumping and see a City legend lose their job and maybe struggle to get back into management as a result. No thanks.

To me it would be a pyrrhic victory.

If he gets put out of a job it won't just be because of Saturday's game.

Honestly bizarre that people would walk out of the ground happy that we were still in the relegation zone and about to face Sunderland away just so McCall can get another few weeks.

Let's have done with it and call ourselves McCall FC.

The difference is that Stuart has never shown any ability, during his managerial spells in England, to turn a bad spell around. It's a special skill that Parky had in abundance - hence our recovery from at least three such spells during his tenure

He should be given until January, as every manager deserves at least one window

I continue to be amazed by this attitude. Next you'll be telling us we should have stuck by him (cue tirade of posts asking how on earth I could suggest anything else!!)

Not sure how you get to this being a Derby game? Scunthorpe is over 60 miles away and in Lincolnshire. Now Rochdale although in Lancashire, is much more of a derby match!

In respect of Stuart, then when he leaves Scunthorpe, he will always be welcome at VP by us supporters. Perhaps he needs one of those ‘Ambassador’ posts like @wetherbywhaler@wetherbywhaler ?

As for the game itself, lets ‘go for it’.
