Well I usually agree with you @Ricc@Ricc but I disagree with you about Phil Parkinson, I didn't hear many complaining after his first season when he kept us in the football league, and improvement every season after that until "Mr I know football" drove him out, I can honestly say I'd have him and his backroom crewe back tomorrow.

Absolutely not. Nobody is bigger than the club. But that doesn't mean I'd want to thump a team and as a result (partly) see a loyal City servant lose his job.

A 1-0 victory, or even a draw, would be just fine by me.

Then we can go on and push for mid table.

you think any chelsea, liverpool or man united fan though the same when mourinho, keegan or mark hughes rocked up for a match? all who arguably did more for those clubs than mccall has done for us. not a chance in hell.

you saying you will settle for a draw so mccall doesn’t lose his job shows clearly enough that you’d prefer him to get a favourable result than us.

i think you’re attempt to get a few likes backfired.

Its not virtuous to be blindly loyal along some arbitrary lines.

We need a win and we need it to be a clean sheet. It would be nice to get a 4 - 0 thumping to spur on the lads. I dont want mid table i want playoffs. Its more than likely not achievable but I want that before I want Mccall to have an easy time. Hes a big boy with big wages and he knows what hes signed up for.

City all the way 4 - 0 please!

What did Mourinho do as a player for Chelsea good manager without doubt, Keegan and Hughes were great footballers for Liverpool & Manchester United, but I'm not sure your second comment holds water, in fact I'd suggest if you had said Dalglish then he possibly rates higher for what he did as a player and manager for Liverpool than Stuart has do for us as a player/manager.

You can have an opinion but @Yorkieman@Yorkieman can't, I thought this was a forum for Bradford City fans with different views on things, would you believe some fools still hold a lamp for Edin and his good intentions.

It is just an opinion. I'll still be at the game cheering the lads on.

Maybe I'm at a different life stage where football isn't everything or maybe I just don't like seeing people I like being sacked just before Christmas and just before the transfer window opens in January, when they might have a chance to turn it around.

As for the examples you give I don't think they really compare to a guy who was there in 1985, whose own father was injured, who has come back to the club three times, who came through City's youth system, who played nearly 400 times for City, etc, etc.

peter jackson came through our system, played over 300 matches, returned to the club twice, was the club’s youngest ever captain during that fateful season. did we not want to beat huddersfield when he was there?

Excellent point, but was Jackson's job dangling by a thread just before Christmas and the January window opening and had he only recently been unjustly sacked whilst still in the play-off-spots by an incompetent Bradford chairman less than a year earlier, after having only months before that taken us to a Wembley play-off final?

I wouldn't worry about it being Christmas. I'm sure the 5 or 6 figure pay off will buy a couple of chocolate oranges for his family.

Funny that with regards Jacko, I was at James Mason's 5/9 event last Thursday night and Jacko was one of the speakers, sorry to say even Jacko said he was a let down the second time as a player, and should never have returned.
Yet Stuart was a success during his first spell, and was quite capable of being Captain but as you say Peter Jackson filled that position very well, the difference was Stuart came back the second time and IMO climaxed his first spell at the club taking over as Captain and helping to take the club to the Premiership if I remember correctly.

rahic has gone, the club is moving forward and that has already been done over and over again. to continue moving forward we need another 3 points no matter who the oppostion manager is - if we win and if mccall happens to be sacked shortly after then it will be his failed performance over the last 4 months that had got him there, not one result against us.

you’re talking like the man is on the breadline and about to be made homeless if he loses his job. far from it, he’ll be alright - but i’m sure he’ll thank you for your concern over his financial welfare.

did we not want to beat sheff wednesday when jewell was manager after GR had undermined him?

I don't think Stuart is short of a bob or two wasn't his mansion in Lanarkshire on the market recently for over £1m, then again you might be correct he's a Yorkshire born Scotsman.

Definitely and he deserves every penny given the career he's had. Good on him.

I get @Yorkieman@Yorkieman's point. I've huge respect for Stuart McCall and I wouldn't want him to lose his job.

However, this is a vital match for us. We need to win. All sentiment disappears at 3pm on Saturday.

Sorry Stuart, you'll always be a legend, but there's been a few false dawns this season where it's looked like the tide's been turning, then the next game's sent them straight back to square one. They need to put points on the table and build confidence as I'm far from convinced that 2019 is going to be a straightforward and unrelenting march up the table.
SM will have to wait another week for his team's upturn in results.

unfortunately scunthorpe’s downturn can continue until may for me.. every position in the bottom four occupied by another club is one less for us to worry about.

Maybe we could settle for my compromise, I would be delighted with 4 points from our next two games Scunthorpe at home and Sunderland away, we are expected to beat Scunthorpe at Valley Parade which would be a good result but to go to the Stadium of Light and bring 3 points home would be a far bigger boost to the squad ?.

Rather beat Scunthorpe and put them in the bottom 4 to be honest.

TBF, I don't think anyone wishes him to lose his job, but that's nothing to do with us, it's just football. Like you say it's a massive 3 points (6 pointer) We need to beat them and the more goals we score the better.
