You live and you learn. I've made plenty of mistakes in my career, but in the main, have moved on successfully by learning from them. I'm sure many on here would admit the same. Sparks has drive and ambition and I like his determination to put himself up there to get knocked down, and to communicate. Something JR was never keen to do.

I am absolutely LOVING the cut of Spark's jib. He's a breathe of fresh air and I take back any criticism I may have had of him previously. He's done more since last season ended than the Invisble Man and the Nightclub Bouncer did in 20 years.

 

I'm concerned for the club and it’s fans, that ain’t shit stirring. What positives have we had since July 2018 by the way? You keep your head in the sand/up the clubs arse and see where we are in 12 months. I’m so negative because the club is knackered, from top to bottom, we’ve gone from a sniff of the championship to probable non league football in 3 and a half years, what the feck do you want me to act like? People like you are the absolute cancer of our fan base, happy to accept this utter shite and push blame onto fans like me, mock us because we don’t tow the positivity line. Get real. Look where we are, where we’re going and how far we’ve dropped since May 2017.

We have reached an all time low and in danger. We have CEO that shouldn't be CEO. We have an owner that seems not bothered.

I'm not getting into the posted/not posted debate over the years, it's irrelevant. I don't post that much in the overall scheme of things...I was in on the fly by to get rid of Edin and I seriously hoped things would improve..

But let's get real about this. It's not effing work experience, bring your kid to work day.

Ryan has no business management experience, no financial management experience...his 'mentor' is someone who put the club in admin, saw us through it like austerity...

If there was an external advert for the role he wouldn't tick any boxes whatsoever!!

I have more 'life' experience and more business experience with a FTSE 100 company than he will ever have... sadly I have no money to invest...



It really does come across as a 'cheap' appointment.

 

I hope it is wrong and he is a success as that will benefit the club I have supported all my life, However you judge people not on what they say as words are cheap you judge on the actions they take and the judgement used in those decisions, Extending a failing managers contract when it is was not necessary shows a distinct lack of judgment,

 

NO!, See the post above, The club is far to important to let it go just like that, You may have low expectations and standards but do not expect the rest of us to share those views, When McCall starts winning games consistently then I may let it go,

 

Well if the results don't improve he's gonna look a right tit by the end of January.

 

I've defended Sparks a little but go look at Ryan's comments having given Stuart an extension, they physically make me cringe knowing that he sacks Stuart 2 weeks later.

It just feels even more so like we have no idea what we are doing.

I think you should listen to him again. He said everything bar the last 5 minutes influenced his decision

 

Perhaps - football is an emotive sport at the best of times so when we are in the shit we are in it is easy to hear negatives in everything. Sparks did well tonight in my eyes, but as he said, words are now so hollow without positive action to back it up.
Get into the festive spirit a bit (Covid, lockdowns, brexit and Eastenders miserable Christmas specials! )

Seems at least some fans see what has been done by Sparks as actions worthy of a competent CEO. Contrast that with the reaction when the rumour was first delicately placed on here all those months ago.

Anyway what ever people think I know I have a really good feel factor about the club now. Again contrast that with how we all felt at the time SM was sacked.

All in all what has happened in the last 2 short months or so has been very heartening to see and hear.

Yes I know this should have been the case all along, but it wasn't. We know why some of that was and they have now left the club.

We are not out of the woods yet by any means but if just half of the recent signings are any good then we will have a much better squad to pick from. I bet they are already planning next seasons signings.

I was more than sceptical. I lambasted his appointment. Its very early days and we've achieved nothing yet, but i have nothing but praise for how he's started in his role. Even the decision to give mccall a contract - which I disagreed with - I can see the logic. And he had the balls to undo a mistake quickly.

I would be sorry to see Trueman and Sellars go now to be honest.

 

What we’re doing now, is what we all wanted 4 years ago. If Rupp continues in this vein I’d be happy for him to stay in background. I don’t think we’re ready for more upheaval and losing Sparks, Trueman and Sellars, after the massive improvements we’ve made would be an absolute travesty and prove to be the end for some fans. That is unless the new owner has already sanctioned the signings and is happy to leave as is.

 

You want rid of Sparks anyway Fordy and within a month you’ll want rid of the next guy, just like you wanted rid of Mason. A familiar depressing pattern with you.

 

I’m no Rupp apologist by any stretch, but his naivety has probably cost him millions. He backed the wrong horse with Rahic and who could blame him for being cautious with his money after that. He’s still investing now and has backed Sparks and the club again.

No one is going to come in until there’s evidence the ship has been steadied and the course has been turned fully towards calmer waters. What’s done is done, Sparks and his team are working as one so let’s see how we get on over the next 6 - 12 months.
