I've worked in finance all my life and find that praising people as you go along, as they do small individual good things produces even better results. Now I run my own business that applies even more so. People that help me give me twice as much back if I consistently let them know I appreciate it. You should always go into appraisals knowing exactly what to expect in both good and bad performance.

And in my previous life, I always got more from my troops in battle if I told them they had given there all. We wouldn't have made it through the wilderness, and smashed the rebels, if I'd come down hard on a poor days fight,

You know that's a "wessy' thing. Its only here in west Yorkshire that people put mint sauce on their mushies with fish

 

Well the transfer window has passed and it looks like a failing squad has had many weak links removed and some good solid additions.

This makes a change from getting rid of our saleable assets for a quick cash boost and packing the squad with crap just to finish the season.

So far more positives than negatives. Infact at this stage apart from giving Stuart an extended contract which he then rectified by sacking him he hasn't done much wrong.

 

Was Ryan the new CEO when Stuart got the contract extension or was Julian still in the role.

 

The announcement for both were on the same day.

Yep, very happy about the change in fortune. Personally I was seriously starting to think about moving house again because since I moved here 3 years ago our form has been shocking. My superstitious side was blaming myself.....

 

im coming round more to the feeling that we definitely needed fresh ideas and impetus at that level. Look at everything thats been done in a matter of a month or two that fans were literally crying out for previously, and rhodes' response was to attack fans in the press as wanting multimillion pound set ups. So far Sparks is doing a bang up job for me.

Just heard the 30 min interview and am impressed. Obviously time will tell whether it is more "just talk" but we now seem to have structure and a positive direction. I agree with your lets see in 18/24 months but now feel much more positive about our situation. Some of his rhetoric seems to cover points you have made in your past posts(quite correctly) and whereas I don't know much about some of the signings we have made, it certainly looks as though we have signed a team with team players and not just bodies living off past reputations.

 

Listening to his last few comments, sounds like he's doesn't plan on being around very long?
