Time will prove your analysis wrong. I hope you will be as happy about that as I will be.

How will he prove us right?

He isn't the man for the job! Suck up to him like a little dancer but he isn't! You know deep down he isn't but just want to stick on your own little agenda.

Maybe, you going to wideboy your way in also. From tea boy to CEO in 2 years?

The title would have been amazing if our CEO had won/lost a boxing match

Come on Fordy, how do you know he isn’t the man for the job? I don’t know that for certain, Rhodes doesn’t, Rupp doesn’t, you don’t. He was never the tea boy, he came in as communications manager and has worked his way up. I’ve a 30 year old two years in the industry who has more about them then people who have been there 30+ years, age and experience aren’t everything, 30 years experience is very different to one year thirty times over.

Time will tell who is right, but Sparks isn’t going any where any time soon so you will have to accept it. You can whinge and whine like a toddler all you like but Ryan Sparks is the CEO and I don’t see that changing.

That's the problem. He'll never prove you right because your argument is utterly unbalanced and even if he did something good you'd still moan about something else. It's a pointless debate with you.

Personally I wouldn't have given him the job but that's only because I wanted to see a clean sweep behind the scenes form the owner down. Doesn't mean to say Sparks won't make a good go of the role, only time will determine whether he does or not.

Think the my view is that a club like Bradford City in this situation with an owner that seems disinterested and a club clearly going backwards needs experience. This isn't the time for a novice. It's nothing to do with his age. Couldn't careless how old he is.

Yes, he isn't going anywhere as yet but for me Bradford City are just a mess. He shouldn't have been appointed but he has and no doubt Rhodes will be getting a consultancy fee.

Time won't tell anything as Bradford City will be in the same position off the as it has be for the last 10 years or so.

Good luck to him. He's got what he wanted but we are the joke of the football league with this appointment. A club that can't be taken seriously.

Like Rogered Tart I would have preferred the clean slate the club needs, and I would have preferred experience too but we got Sparks. Time will tell, the first objective is to avoid relegation and then to grow and for that shared will to back to League One to become a reality. He’s brought in the consultants or whoever to look at recruitment and I think if results don’t turn very soon he’ll make another tough decision. He’s perhaps not the first person I would have appointed but I don’t see the value in banging on day in day out about it here.

Quite right Mike (and Keefly). It's easy for Fordy who runs a complex business where all he needs to worry about is whether he has enough sponges, the leathers are clean and he's paid the water bills!
I said on a previous post that in my own career when the big promotion came I was an unknown quantity, everyone is in those circumstances. What I know of Ryan is that he is ambitious, knows the perils of taking the job and is very keen to make a success of it. Over the last few weeks before his appointment I could see a change in him. I have spent time at away games with him and some of the Associate Directors, at Tonbridge as likely Crawley next week there were just the two of us. Take it from me Ryan's head is full of issues to resolve and take forward and I have no doubt we will all see that in the weeks to come.

Remember Ryan has already headed up the BCFC case through the Covid crisis, set the tone on staffing at VP and negotiated several better and wider sponsorship deals whilst basically being on his own apart from JR and regular - yes regular contact with Stefan.
Ryan has the full backing of Stefan, the staff at VP and us Associate Directors, together with offers of help or guidance based on our own business careers. So, I pick up on Mike's own words, not just to Fordy but anyone else to whom it applies. Stop "whinging and whining like a toddler" and get behind the lad and the Club, support is what is needed, not sniping and snarling when you feel denied every little piece of the Club's confidential business is being denied you.

    Roger Owen.

It's like appointing a 23 year old who sold advertising as CEO of a Championshp club
Might end up with a peerage

I hope it is wrong and he is a success as that will benefit the club I have supported all my life, However you judge people not on what they say as words are cheap you judge on the actions they take and the judgement used in those decisions, Extending a failing managers contract when it is was not necessary shows a distinct lack of judgment,
