The club said something like 'until further notice' when they named them interim managers didn't they, and the whinge brigade started saying all sorts, like 'what does that term even mean?' 'how can we attract players when we have no certainly over who is the manager in a few months time etc'......well those criticisms aged very well lol.

We've acted firmly and quickly during this window and it has made a refreshing change.

It’s been a good start but on the same token when he was appointed and he needed time to prove it, we cannot be singing from the rooftops just yet.

a lot of the signings will hopefully be down to Turnbull but we do not know if they are a success yet or not. How many times have we signed players and it gone to pot when we try and fit them in?

results have improved sufficiently before we lost so many games to postponements but pressure could really be on if we lose a couple when we return wiht a small gap still to relegation.

it’s been a solid start I would say and pleased with that. I want to get back to talking about matters on the pitch and a CEO should remain the last thing we neeed to talk about if they are doing their job.

Ultimately it will be decided how good of a job he has done in the next 3/4 months

I think part of the reservation of the appointment of Sparks was because the record of appointing people to the club by Junior has been so poor, Given his record of him appointing some disastrous people in various positions to the club there was obvious worry over his choice of Sparks

Absolute nail on the head moment there. Probably the most accurate thing written on here in the entire history of accurate things.

Exactly. Why would he turn it down, it's exactly the same as Donaldson taking up his years extension. We offer it, they take it.

Personally I think Sparks was "told" that was happening by JR and he had no choice but to back the decision, publically at least.

A lot has happened in the last nine days, since @Ulysses S Grant@Ulysses S Grant ’s last post.

I wondered whether or not, some on here, who were somewhat sceptical about Ryan, may have had a reappraisal?

A substantial rebuilding of the playing squad. Although probably not his direct appointments, a lot of very decisive action has occurred under Ryan’s tenure.

I think virtually everyone on here is content with the comings and goings.

Anyone who was concerned about his appointment, I wonder if the developments have made you review your original stance.

This is one of the most radical ‘reboots’ of the playing squad/management, mid season that I can ever remember.

I for one and actually only one of a few have always backed ryan sparks, all the things we see that he has done i guarantee there is plenty more he has done that we havnt seen, and his handling of the new lads in charge has been great, he had his hand turned, couldn't replace them with the results they got, promoted them to inteim managers, 8 games later carnt replace them still due to the amazing job there doing, if a lot of people on here had there wishes, the guy doing oh so well at grimsby would be our manager now! Funny as feck! As above, what you all thinking now?

I was more than sceptical. I lambasted his appointment. Its very early days and we've achieved nothing yet, but i have nothing but praise for how he's started in his role. Even the decision to give mccall a contract - which I disagreed with - I can see the logic. And he had the balls to undo a mistake quickly.

Most chairman give there managers the dreaded vote of confidence! Ryan gave him a contract, sent a msg to the players who was boss, it worked about as much as a vote of confidence does but at least he tried something different, and as you say he had the balls to hold his hand up and say he was wrong and sack mccall, and that won't have been an easy desicion

Exactly my thoughts. It was a form of the last chance saloon, but done in a more subtle manner and not one that is usually done. It gave McCall a last last chance. Sadly he wasn’t able to use it. We move on. Ryan was decisive in dismissing him promptly!

He certainly was, last man that sacked him set about erasing his name from BCFC! Mcall deserved more and got more, and on the plus side if where ever in the shit again we know who will happily jump in to help us, in sparks, Trueman and sellers we trust

I never ever want to see Stuart in a management capacity at City, ever again. It was wrong to bring him back in 2020. McCall is an utter legend as a player. His legacy as a player doesn’t need to be tarnished by the management episodes. Perhaps a return of Stuart as a club ambassador, if there was ever such a role created.

Yeh got to agree with you there, but you know Stuart! If he ever gets asked again he will say yes! And it won't be his missus saying whats the budget! The budget will be same as everyone else, he might just spend it all next time ha, all that's gone tho, I only mentioned he would be there if needed as we all know he would, as for now the Trueman and sellers show rolls on and who would dream of stopping it, people worried about how they would sign players as they had no contacts, thats where Ryan and his Leeds connections have come into play, turnbull and his experience have been a master stroke and even burell and folds down to the gaffers, which I thought they might find a gem or two with there knowledge, not forgetting FCD and Staunton but he was half way there under mcall, I hope people start to trust and believe in ryan sparks, he deserves it now, still feel some are just waiting for him to fail, why tho? It's been months! Just back him now

Being honest, I'm more intrigued as to the rebuild which I'm hoping will accumulate over the summer and land us a squad capable of a promotion push, next season. As with any players coming in, it just dose not always work, eg Doyle. But the rebuild is beyond that, regaining a declining fan base, rebuilding trust amongst fans. It's structure off the pitch to which we are undoubtedly moving forwards with.

I'm willing to give as long as it is needed. This season is about building momentum, for next season IMO.
