I think a million was mentioned or quoted from Julian. However, I always believed that was to clear the overdraft/deficit, although no idea how that happened. Mr Tightarse himself was responsible for that. We have to address this or otherwise it could become a burden. So it is right that we trim the squad of players who are not able or want to be part of the DH plan.

If they can’t find a club to take on their contract, we might need to offer incentives as long as as we free up at least half of their salary, it is still a saving.

Yes we have improved but we are still squad light on players who can come in and do a job in the heat of the relegation battle.

Lazy journalism. It's clear that Rupp has to put money in for the short term to cover business costs. But that one million? Ah, so it's 'hoped ' Rupp will put the money and then interpret that in your own way. And fans being fans that ' £1 million becomes 'transfer fees'. The facts in all this? No one really knows, but it has been reported Rupp has financed our biggest budget since 2004 and it's highly unlikely that budget will be pushed further. More likely Hopkin will try and reduce outgoings so he has money to play with then wheel and deal with that and the loan market.

Things have improved on the playing front but our position hasn't improved that much.

Keep reading on social media about Riley's attitude, has something happened? Can't say I've seen anything myself.

Is it more what hopkin said recently?

That the players not in didn’t have the right attitude or something along those lines. And people have put 2 and 2 together?

We had John O’Kane and Paul Tierney on loan as well, neither of them ever amounted to anything.

O'Kane was ok ish compared to Tierney rate him just slightly better than Alan Dowson, think we all expect better when players come from Man Utd ,still remember how bad Mike Duxbury was albeit it was at the end of his career

Agree, we always joked that he must have dug a hole underneath the pitch cos he was always missing once he crossed that white line onto the pitch...

I always feel people jump to conclusions when managers mention attitude. They instantly goto 'Bad attitude' but attitude is such a broad terminology and it usually means more that they just don't fit with the style of play and the general mentality that the manager wants. Otherwise, 99.9% of professional players have bad attitudes which is clearly not the case

It depends, does he miss out on the Injury by staying with you? The Class of 92 at United got fairly lucky that they missed out on serious injuries but the years after that we lost alot of the most promising players for extended periods with serious injuries, injuries which back then medical care wasn't at the level it is now so recovering anywhere near the old level was nigh on impossible. The likes of Tomlinson and Thornley for example were highly regarded and from the Class of 91 you had Adrian Doherty who Giggs is on record as saying he feels without injury Doherty would have blocked his way into the first team.

Players are much luckier these days, where leg breaks, cruciate injuries are still bad it largely doesn't stop them coming close to fulfilling their potential

Adrian Doherty is a sad story of what might have been. Can recommend "Forever Young" his biography. Interesting, moving and ultimately tragic.

Totally agree, I also think it may mean 'not good for what I want them to do' but is a better thing to say than that. Wright and Riley recently have been tagged with a bad attitude label which I have yet to see.

Agree. Unless you are immensely talented you won't make it as a footballer with a bad attitude
