No he has not. He had a consultancy agreement for six months post the sale and Edin terminated after 3 weeks on the basis of "I know how to run a football club". With respect Park you are wide wide wide of the mark.

What's the point in bringing him in on a consultancy basis when it's been widely noted that rahic doesn't listen to the fecking advice offered to him???

Need some actual proof that rahic is backing off

Desperate times call for desperate measures.

    These plonkers are panicking.

Its our duty to keep cranking up the pressure.

They know they're struggling to maintain control.

Honestly, I think its another admission by Edin and we need to give this some time. Hopkin seems to be making team and recruitment decisions, Rhodes is now surely in to make day to day decisions. Its another buffer between Edin and any kind of decision making that could further damage the club - that has to be a good thing.

On Edin, in some ways I feel for him. This is his dream and he has been found wanting. It must be difficult for him because I don't think his actions are with any particularly bad intention, its just pure naivety. Rhodes has been through it all and knows the club as much as anyone else. Hopefully that means some balance at the top now.

If this bringing in Rhodes is an attempt by rahic & rupp to find a way to continue thier b*llshit at Bradford City whilst having an excuse to say its not their fault anymore if things dont improve i am pretty sure that most of us dont buy it!

Its clear to all of us that all those two want is to keep developing youth at any expense until one day they get lucky and earn a few million, even if the club is languishing in 16th place league 2 mediocrity! We can see it a mile off, and bringing in rhodes so that all the fans discontenet and flack is diverted to him isnt going to work! These two need to LEAVE THE CLUB ALONE, and go use another team for their little business venture

What does everyone else feel on this?
I just think its an attempt to continue thier madness and having a way to direct flack if things carry on going downhill.

I have no faith whatsoever that this isn't just the latest in a long line of terrible events in 2018. Does anyone think that Rahic will actually sit down, hear , listen properly AND then act on the advice he gets? I just can't see it. All the evidence suggests that he won't. This whole sorry episode has simply gone on far too long, too many bridges have been burnt and all faith lost (mine at least). Until Rahic goes for good, I remain an absentee season ticket holder, will never set foot in VP again nor proffer a single penny their way.

Hope this is just a start. Had to chuckle at the description " a true Bradford City man". Haven't one or two of them been pushed through the revolving door in the past few months?

Genuinely don't know what to make of it, especially as we don't really know what sort of role Rahic will have.

Quite surprising as a few on here always state it was Rhodes who was desperate to sell up, not Lawn.

On a side note, what does Rhodes actually look like now, they've used the same picture for about 15 years.

Whilst I welcome Julian's return I can not help feeling, apart from the absence of Mark Lawn of course that we have come full circle for absolutely nothing
What a sad state of affairs we are in having to bring back one of the old guard.
What happened to the vision proposed by Rahic and Rupp?
Simple answer really it's in the bin because it doesn't work
Good Luck with this one Julian you'll need it in bucket loads.

This is really good news. Hopefully Rahic will listen, because Julian Rhodes knows football.

    For those furiously wanking about this, ask yourselves this;
McCall and Black, Abbot, Mason, Grayson and god knows how many others have given Edin advice which I assume he has chosen to ignore. Why will Julian be any different? What makes you think anything will change?

When I first read the head line, I thought brilliant. However, he is still here, so we will have to see how this pans out, if JR can’t get him to listen nobody can. Can we have James Mason back as well now please?

    1. He's not been involved for something like the past four weeks
    2. Hopkin would not Still be staying, given the rubbish we've been playing, ie harder job than first thought AND having Edin chirping in his ear
    3. He and more importantly told us that it's all up to Hopkin in terms of player and management recruitment
    4. Hopkin stated he'd been talking to free agents. It wasn't Edin
    5. You've not got a sulky 'ask Greg/Edin as recruitments nothing to do with me' comment from Hopkin. Quite the opposite, actually

What other proof do you want? Some people are actually intelligent enough to realise that they have to change their approach, to get a something moving in the right direction.

Excellent news. Welcome back Julian, you have been greatly missed

I personally think this is the first step toward the end of Rahic's time here. I cannot imagine Rahic wanting to take a step that far back, whereby Rhodes runs the business side, and Hopkin has full reins of the footballing side.

I hope this is also the first step for getting the missing fans back on board, and also the long road back to recovery

I definitely see this as a step forward. Im very very far from being fully convinced yet. I want them to show progress through actions like bringing Rhodes in but I don't fully trust that his ideas will be listened too. Time will tell. I don't think we should stop the rahic out stuff as whilst I think this is a good thing I still am very hesitant when it comes to rahic. I hope that we can try and use this as a way to get fans back in the stadium as without fan support it will be even harder to climb our way out of relegation. Although to those who are still sticking to there principals of staying away until rahic leaves I won't say anything bad about. I don't trust rahic one bit so it will take a lot for me to not be insistent on him leaving.
