In what way did he put everything on the line? The club went into 2 Admins under his stewardship and after Admin 2, he bought the club in its entirety at a knock down price from the Administrator with all of the debt written off and creditors paid a measly amount on account. It was the fans who were raising money right until the 11th hour who kept the club afloat during Admin 2

Before everyone gets carried away he has been brought in a consultancy role
Which means exactly that he is there to be consulted give his opinion and then it's up to the powers that be IF they act on that opinion
Someone to deflect any future blame on maybe

This appointment will hurt Rahic like hell. It's embarrassing to him and no way was he party to a decision like this. His end is nigh.

Reminds me of when Brian Robson was manager of Middlesbrough and Terry Venables was brought in.
Robson was clueless as is Rahic.

I can't help but take this latest twist with a heaping of cynicism. Smoke and Mirrors comes to mind. Enid is desperate to keep a fanbase for league2. Whilst we continue to buy the club for the parasites.
However, im prepared to listen to the nuts and bolts of it all. Before knife and folking through the bollox to see that the player budget is still a fraction of what we had therefore more conference players on conference wages giving us shortly conference football.... #SeeChesterfield

Well I'm bloody flabbergasted at this latest carry on ? and to be frank bloody angry with Rhodes for selling to these two wasters in the first place? What exactly has been the point of all this. Rhodes sells a club on a crest of a wave and then returns as the "knight in shining armour" with it flat on its arse and heading for oblivion ! All the Rhodes where on are leading nowhere. It's a total fokk up by the lot of them !

They took the dividend payments from Richmond and that was a big mistake but didn’t they pay it back. Certain I read that somewhere.

Put the family home on the line to secure the clubs debt. How many owners would do that these days?

JR is his own man - he knows how to handle Edin, spent quite a bit of time dealing with him through the transition. I very much doubt he’ll be taking any shit and parameters have been put in place already.

Yes but too long on the tooth to get caught up in that crap. I wonder how they are paying him? Hopefully Edin shares.

No, the Rhodes took the dividend payment from the club's holding company just as the Richmonds did. The Rhodes' repaid a small amount of their divi (less than £30k from memory) and kept the rest of their almost £4mill.

There were no club debts to be secured. They were largely written off in Admin 2 under the CVA. There were some debts which are still to be repaid but only if the club ever gets back to the PL! Those debts are a charge on the club (they are registered at Companies House) and not the Rhodes' despite what might have been said.

Boots on the other foot now
Can you really see Edin taking any notice whatsoever of JR
Let's be fair he was the one who offered Parky the option to bounce ideas of him cause he knew football and that went well

Desperate times call for desperate measures.

    These plonkers are panicking.

Its our duty to keep cranking up the pressure.

They know they're struggling to maintain control.

He and his family took divs. They said they didn’t know, BFG led them down the garden path of oblivion. Prof Rhodes looked me in the eye and told me that himself. Both him and Julien have run successful business. Yes their neglect in being more actively involved and we ended up in admin. Prof told me they trusted Geoffrey and had no reason to question his decisions.

However, since that time, plus they put their own home up as surety to the Inland Revenue very brave in my view.

So yes mistakes were made, and they learnt the hard way. If they had buggered off as they could have done I would have a different view.

No they don't but as custodians of our Club both MR and JR had absolute responsibility to ensure that the ownership and future of our Club was passed into the hands of fit and proper persons. And most certainly not left to the whims of a football fantasist and his absentee benefactor!

Read it all again. There were no bank debts to be paid, no creditors to be paid, no outstanding long term playing contracts to be paid and no player leasing agreements to be paid. With one exception, they had all been written off during Admin 1 and Admin 2. Oh yes, and the Rhodes still had the div payments in the bank. We were still selling match tickets, still receiving money from the EPL and EFL and still receiving advertising and sponsorship money. Even the most incompetent of owners could keep the ship afloat under those circumstances.

I think once they confined they had the money to buy the club and sustain it going forward, what else can they dictate to the owners?

They will always say the right things to buy the club and in football management and players change fast anyway. No matter what they said.

They kept mason but even he found it difficult and left. But that was all with hindsight. It’s not like you can let them have a trial run and then take back over if it goes wrong
