Not without financial penalties. Put your money where your mouth is, £50 for charity says it will be done.

Whenever you take up a business you should have already evaluated what needs to be done, and how much it costs. You draw up a priority list with your objectives firmly in place. However, you should also know what your primary business is and never lose sight of what you are here for.

Out of the list above there are several projects that will primarily generate money.

    Club Shop, + new office
    Suites upgrade
    1911 upgrade

I am not against generating money we need that, but it has to be when we can afford it, or ortherwise it will deprive your primary business of cash.

Pitch upgrade is a priority because it is hindering your ability to deliver your primary business and draining money away with maintenance costs.

New pitches at the training ground comes into the category as main Pitch.

Youth Academy, now this is admirable and a long term project as it cannot guarantee players will be available in the near future. If we can afford it without interfering in the primary business go for it.

New media team, I am presuming that is new members of staff, don’t have a problem with that either, I gather several staff have been sacked, so that will probably not have cost any further money.

I am waiting to see what we do in the summer, for me it is a crunch time for this club, get it wrong and we will find ourselves fighting relegation. We highly anticipate that we will have a reduced season ticket sales, and therefore just to standstill we will require more investment in the squad. I presume being business men they have a plan B for this scenario.

By the way, you forgot the new seats that were put in the lower main stand. Cheap and nasty and decidedly uncomfortable, I was not impressed.

I remember Lawn turning down JCT because they weren't offering enough and we eneded up with MAP.

Are you saying they should have been more pro active keeping the ground infrastructure up have a lovely stadium but still possibly playing league two football, because I very much doubt Phil Parkinson would have stuck around working for owners with little ambition.

I also remember ML speaking to my friend at Ciba and telling him that their sponsorship of one of the stands would have to increase by 100%. No debate, no proper explanation, little advance notice. Take it or leave it. They chose to leave it.

I’m saying it has to be a balancing act and I think the previous owners didn’t make hay while the sun shone. When the extra income was coming in from Cup runs etc they should have done the ticket system, or the pitch, or general upkeep so that it doesn’t all need doing at once

But that would have been at the expense of a lower player budget, we had to have a Cup run to generate a decent players budget, and if we didn't one of our players would be sold,we knew Mark & Julian didn't have the finance to do both, hence the way I voted when asked about the hypothetical scenario of someone offering the club a £1m gift to spend as they liked and I voted for the windfall to be spent on players, where as other voted to repair the pitch.

The owners chose to do things differently on two fronts. Firstly putting more money into PP's playing budget and secondly using the extra funds to pay off Lawn's loan. They certainly could have used the extra money differently but on the first point, PP might then have struggled after we had been promoted. On the second point, I'd agree with you and suggest they could have directed the £1m into improving the club's infrastructure in some way. But that may not have gone down too well with ML!

It illustrates once more how dependent we were and still are on unanticipated cup runs for our success.

Obviously it was well documented on C&B about Mark's loan and the interest rate he was receiving, do you think Mark would have kicked up a fuss if Julian had not paid it back during that good season, as I understood it @Dennis@Dennis Mark was quite happy to take his 9% or whatever it was, a nice little earner and that's not a pop at Mark Julian knew the terms with which the money was loaned.

Hey Park Bantam. Shortly before the demise of C&B you posted a post that seemed to go largely unnoticed. You said that it was Rupp who had put the brakes on spending in January, frustrating Rahic who was now looking for other backers. Any updates on this? If this was even partly true it might encourage some people to go easier on Edin.

My understanding was that it was Julian who was keen to repay the loan and Mark was happy to leave it?

Yes that's the situation I was told, I can see both sides nice little earner for Mark, and as it was money we had not budgeted for it was a great time to pay Mark his loan back.

As I posted earlier that’s what I was told a fall out between the owners due to Rupp not wanting to put any more money in and Edin wanting to keep Stuart till the end of season. Just a rumour from a friend of mine who has told me stuff in the past mainly in the Rhodes era who he was friendly with
