A few details on the alleged incident.

 

Grim. He didn’t hear it apparently but someone did. The one thing I would take issue with is lazy analysis that if you have a high percentage of Asian ppl in your City that somehow you are more like to be abused.

Makes it more likely that the FA/League will do something about it if the lino reported it rather than the player but still weird that no one has come forward to corroborate what was heard

Actually Bugiel was born in Germany. His mother is Polish and his father Lebanese. So as well as being totally out of order the insult was shall we say completely inaccurate.

I just personally find this too hard to believe. Fans use the “B” word all the time, but there’s not a chance someone in the main stand used the “P” word to precede it. I’d be absolutely gobsmacked if proven true. Very odd that a linesman (complete with ear piece) heard the so-called slur from many metres away, but not a single fan has owned up to hearing it. Also speaks volumes that it is still being investigated over a week later. Something this serious, the club would have dealt with it swiftly and banned the “perpetrator” for life to make an example of them and send out a clear message against racism

If something was shouted, could it have been something like “facking bastard” and the linesman has put 2 and 2 together and come up with 5??

It is nonsense, and sounds to me like the linesman has either totally misheard what might have been shouted, or is a complete drama queen and trying to make something out of nothing

 

What can the club do with no evidence, has anyone around him I assume it was a he been forward to the appropriated people and offered some sort of evidence, surely it would have been dealt with asap by the club they'd prefer to get it sorted rather than have an article like this all over the morning papers even if it is The Sun.

There appears to have been no report since the original incident against Wimbledon. Surely the fan has been identified and banned by now?
