Pre season friendlies

There is very little chance of this ensemble of less than average players mostly Boreyers Bunglers changing their direction of travel. Mid table at best unless we find five key players before September is through ?

 

he needs to tighten up the defence as a priority. since he came in we've looked poor as a defensive unit and that seems to have carried on into pre-season, but that's hardly a suprise since it's the same back four without a recognised RB so could be said that arguably it's actually weaker. that would really show his coaching credentials. he can say all he wants that he'd rather win 4-3 or 3-2 but we all know that's not going to happen week in, week out.

 

Fair reply but I was meaning with regards our finish in the table, would anything but a play off be failure in your opinion.

 

I don't think our attack is good enough to play you score 1 then we will score 2 game.

McCall has to prove he can achieve getting a team out of the league.

 

it's not. hence why we need to become stronger as a defensive unit to grind out those horrible 1-0's - at the moment I don't see us being able to do that.

in answer to your previous; I don't expect us to get play-offs. as a club it should be the minimum aim. so if we do I think we may have over achieved this season but with the pre-season and squad we've got together at the moment I can't see it. come winter there's nobody in that squad I see pulling us through the horrible winter months.

 

We need a defensive midfielder and a good one with energy. Our problem is if we lose possession we just let the opposition straight onto our back 3 or 4. It happened last season too. Think of Salford away last season and you’ll see 2 perfect examples.
In McCall’s previous spell we had Vincelot who would not be bothered about being the one to stay back and break up play. Even dropping into the back 4 if the fullbacks pushed on.
Get someone like that and a solid right back and it will improve our defence

 

We can't possibly be ready after 3 friendlies, can only expect Stuart to be treating next week's cup game as pre season aswell.

why? as a club we need all the money we can get, even if it's just a bonus payment from progressing through the first round of the league cup.. anything other than a strong XI with the aim to go through to the second round would be a failure of their duty - knockout matches should never be seen as a chance to just give people a game or a friendly.

 

Relegation fodder with that formation and that defense, Stuart has a lot of work to do

 

That defence wont be the one that starts at Bolton,but you have to wonder if Stuart really knows which formation he wants to play.No time for experimenting now,its for real on Saturday.

the defence looked woeful again from what we could see of their goals. No one in charge back there to put their foot through it when needed. Too soft.

 

That third goal looks worse every time I see it
