Pre season friendlies

One thing is for certain last season the miserable boo boys hated the dull football. I wonder how much they will enjoy all out attack with a lot more goals and a lot more conceded

 

Our second string.

 

Judging by the amount of goals we are scoring maybe we should be turning our attention to further back for Strengthening

 

3 losses from 3.. conceding goals left, right and centre. worst transfer window for some time. if it wasn't McCall there'd be meltdown on here.

when the season starts I'd take 30 boring 1-0 wins to ensure promotion and getting out of this league over losing 3-2 or 4-3. 'entertaining' football isn't entertaining if you're consistently losing.

Spot on. Anyone other than Teflon and the anger would be palpable.

So this is where the issue lies. There are too many people willing to accept mediocrity to keep Teflon at the helm.

By the sound of it we are producing chances and taking plenty but opponents are scoring for fun maybe a couple of defenders more suited to open play might work out better. I see Guthrie created another today

we played a championship reserve team the other day and didn't lay a glove on them in the second half.

a loss is a loss and creates a losing mentality - which is running through the club and into some fans who are willing to accept whatever they are given as long as it's McCall giving it to them.

 

But we played very well against a strong side first half. And the young side town put out had players in there that have championship experience

 

who cares what other clubs are doing.. the way we get out of this league is concentrating on ourselves.

it's like when we lose on a Saturday and everyone checks the Leeds and Huddersfield scores to see how they got on to make themselves feel a little bit better, whilst those clubs sit in the Premier League and Championship - something we can only dream of.

 

sorry park, but you're deluding yourself if you're taking positives from these four losses. I'd rather play terribly and win 1-0 than well and lose 3-2.. it's a results business. something this club and a group of fans has easily forgotten.

 

What like when we beat Shrewsbury on the opening day 1-0 yet it was sign of things to come? Performances are far more important early season, no team has been crap all season and sustained winning, but they have had results go against them and turn it round. Like when Sheffield United took 5 games to get their first win, before going on to get 100 points and win the title. I’ll be very much judging our early season performances as it will be a far more accurate tell of the season, rather than hoping for a few fluky wins.
