You said that Rochdale won't return for a decade not that won't got straight back up. Luton got promoted after 5 years, Notts County after 4, Grimsby did it straight away, Hartlepool did it after 3 seasons, Bristol Rovers did it straight away.

    Ok Mr Articulate i'll rephrase

They won't go straight back up based on the examples i've given, and in my opinion they won't go back up for a decade as they're a fairly mediocre sized fish in that pond

Grimsby didn't go straight back up first time around, they were in there for 6 seasons (10/11 - 15/16)

That league is a very difficult one to get out of as several clubs have found. However it’s considerably weakened this time with Notts and Wrexham out. Chesterfield will be the big danger

Bury tickets on sale for home fans. £8.35 for adults.

Bury are also playing Preston the following day as part of the celebration of being back at Gigg Lane.

It was your final comment I wasn't sure of, although your examples are correct it can't be fact until its proven and at the moment that can't be said of Rochdale.

Grimsby were relegated to National League in 2020/21 and promoted in 2021/22 when they were last in the National League.

I paid. I don't have proof. It's there. You can see for yourself. My conscience is clear.

If it's there and you can see it then why not take a screenshot and post it on here instead of getting someone else to something you yourself could do?

A bit of a contradiction in itself, if you've paid you do have proof, that's the reason others along with my self @Kevin1954@Kevin1954 and @Offcomedun@Offcomedun have posted proof of paying their bets, it's really ot that difficult.

Doubt it - it's a recurring theme, we only play maybe 2 home matches each pre season, but at least 4 or 5 away to smaller clubs.

My suggestion is that surely the other way round would be more beneficial to our preparations. You don't see Premier League or even Championship sides wasting pre-season playing 80% of their matches away to teams several leagues below them - yes one or two is fine for fitness purposes, etc, but ours seems to always be heavily weighted towards cheap pre-season outings at cr@p sides basically. Could this be of hindrance?

These are the first two I've looked up, one Premier League, one Championship.

    Luton Town:
    Friday 1st July: Hitchin Town (A) – 7pm
Saturday 2nd–9th July: Slovenia training camp
    Saturday 16th July: Northampton Town (A) – 1pm
    Tuesday 19th July: Peterborough United (A) – 7.45pm
    Saturday 23rd July: West Ham United (H) – 3pm

    Preston North End:
    Saturday 1st July – Bamber Bridge (A), 3pm
    Sunday 9th July – Bury FC (A), 3pm
    Saturday 15th July – Barrow AFC (A), 3pm
    Tuesday 25th July – Fleetwood Town (A), 7pm
    Saturday 29th July – Stockport County (A), 3pm

I'd say we are following the pattern of most clubs, apart from a few of the really big clubs that do 'international' tours, which are more about earning money rather than the ideal preparations for the new season.

Okay, fair point, but that doesn't really answer my query as to why it has to be that way?

Would a schedule heavily leaned towards competitive home matches be better preparation to start the season? It seems obvious that it would be, so why the need to have friendlies against Eccleshill, Brighouse, Avenue, etc?

Usually, matches against the likes of Eccleshill, Brighouse etc. are for City's reserve/squad/under 19 players.

As to the benefits, or not, of playing home or away pre-season friendlies, that question might be best directed to the manager, although some seasons the pitch work would dictate whether or not home friendlies are possible. We may yet add a second home game.

To be fair... I wasn't concerned about taken a screenshot. More important things to be worried about. So I've deleted it. But it's on there on just giving page
