Bury are playing another home match the day after they play us, against Preston North End on the Sunday.

According to Bury's website "Both sides have committed to bringing down full squads".

    It was more generally speaking.

We usually only have 2 of these types of friendlies, but all the rest are away to teams far worse than us.

Wouldn't it be more beneficial to have a greater proportion of home matches against better opposition to set us up for the opening game.

Again, this begs the question of just how useful will this be. Surely a home match against League One, or even National League opposition would be better than a 9th tier side, Eccleshill, Brighouse, etc.

Happy with this final pre season friendly at Dale, yes we could of got better opposition bla bla bla, but Dale will be hurting at the relegation with many players out to impress and be given another chance, good game I say.
And just to add to that I've always liked Rochdale despite the fact many of times they've put the knife in where it hurts lol, so this game will no doubt attract a decent away following and help boost their coffers on funding hopefully a quick return to the EFL.

I wouldn’t be surprised if we end up playing Southampton or Stoke at home.

I would have thought Hughes could have got us a plum friendly with any of the following.
    United
    City
    Chelsea
    Bayern

I’d love a trip to St Mary’s but it won’t happen

The money in USA is a much bigger pull than a friendly with us for the big clubs. If we are going to get a Premier League club it will have to be one that is staying in this country so far only Everton, Newcastle, Nottingham Forest and Sheffield Utd have announced preseason matches and doesn't look like they are going on a tour. Of the other clubs Bournemouth, Burnley and Luton are yet to announce any preseason matches. Our only fixture slots left are 18th and 25th June which all are available for apart from Newcastle (18th) and Everton (25th). Out of them Burnley is the most likely with the links between Hughes and Kompany plus other coaching staff. Possible to use it as a scouting opportunity for some of their fringe players.

For those who would get the train to Manchester for Bury there’s engineering works on the usual Bradford-Victoria line, so it means people probably will have to go to Leeds to get the TPE to Victoria

Love it when a poster who enjoys winding up his fellow posters then gets the tables turned on him and he gets touchy **so funny**so funny, where do I need to look on the BBU just giving page, no not there, gizza a clue ?

It really would have been easier posting it when I showed proof of my payment of the bet wouldn't it ?.

Nothing has been turned on me. And certainly not getting touchy.

If you paid attention you'd already know whether I have or have not.

Is it too much to ask for proof, surely you'd not want to sink to the level of another poster on here who said he'd paid but offered no proof.

If you remember I was happy to pay up on the bet I lost, it was you who said you'd pay irrelevant of the outcome !!.
If you paid attention you'd already know whether I have or have not, just post your receipt, it's not difficult others who have lost bets have been more than happy to post their receipt to show proof, seems its just you and @Fordy117@Fordy117.

    1) Rochdale won't return to the EFL for at least a decade. Fact.

    2) Why "hopefully"? Bit weird to prefer Rochdale to go up over anyone else, especially Halifax, York, etc.

It has been proven by bigger and better clubs that they can't go straight back up from that league

Luton, Wrexham, Grimsby, Chesterfield, Notts County, Southend, Oldham, Scunthorpe et al.

Rochdale don't have the stature of those types of clubs and will languish for many-a-year.
