Pre-Season Friendlies 23/24

Because we’re a league 2 club and strangely not invited to a prestige far east tournament.

 

Smoggies at home? That’ll be a bit like them streets in Europe where you look in the shop window and choose the one you want then! Gent will think he’s died and gone to heaven.

 

Can't believe it's 22 years ago since we played Middlesbrough in a competitive fixture.. There was a time in the 80's and maybe 90's when we always seemed to be playing them

That’s impressive for a preseason game. A large part of me hopes that’s a function of welcoming back a “proper” club. A couple of pints in the wmc over the road and then the game. Fantastic that Bury are back and we’re headed over. Excellent stuff.

 

On another post on this thread there was a complaint about poor home fixtures. We now have Boro and Tigers, I call those proper matches. The game at Rochdale will be a workout, less so Bury and the rest usefull for squad and youth fitness I saw Harrogate fixtures so far which are Hartlepool Gateshead Darlo and South Shields all away.

 

Always fun and games with boro in the 80's & 90's home & away....plus Hull too!!

How come the Spain pre season game is a cloak and dagger.??
We don’t know the venue, it could be a local park

No guarantee which hotel you’ll stay in.

pick up from Levante Beach? Whereabouts ? It’s about 2 miles long.

 

I wonder how many packages they have actually sold might be doing pick up on a scooter

if the information on the trip had been more transparent from the outset and if flights were included then I think more people would have been interested.
They might even have had more interest if you could just buy a match ticket instead of all this submitting of 3 forms of ID to prepare a personalised ticket.

 

If they don't get promoted it will be at their ground but if they get promoted it will be at another venue due to ground improvements needed for promotion, there looks to be a ground next to it called Campo Anexo Pepico Amat so if that is available it could be that.

 

What i find really weird about it is the fact that attendance to the match is only permitted to those who buy 'packages' via Kadima (sp?!) Sports.. [CiTyS oFfIcIaL TrAvEl PaRtNeR]

Does that mean no home fans will be watching the match at all? Will their fans even know about the match.. there's absolutely nothing announced on any of their social media, websites etc. I'm assuming not. And with their play-off campaign finishing 2 weeks before the match, surely their players will be on post-season jollys? So who exactly will be representing "CD Eldense" for this match, that their own supporters have no awareness of nor access to? This all seems a bit dodgy.

 

It just screams scam to me.
1. Pay first then we’ll send you details.
2. Nobody knows where the venue is.
3. Tell us when your flight arrives and we’ll pick you up, we promise. Or if you go wandering down Benidorm seafront we’ll find you, we promise.
4. Here’s some example hotels but you won’t know which it will be or even if it’s any of them.
5. The game doesn’t even exist on the home team website.

It’s one to avoid I think. Pretty embarrassing from the club really.

oh and finally, the company Kadima Sports was only setup in March.

I can't see Bradford City getting involved with a dodgy company, although looking at that link they hardly fill you with expectations.
It will be interesting to hear from someone who went once they return and give their take on the deal.

 

Probably someone's mate 'giving it a go'.
