I disagree with 99% of his posts, what I don't understand is why anyone would want to put themselves through watching Bradford City if the only things he ever posts are negative, he obviously thinks pre season games do count, if not why would he post this : City can't beat non league Rochdale... go and watch a successful team if all he's bothered about is supporting a winning club maybe Manchester City is a better option.

If as you say pre season results mean nothing why bitch about them ?.

 

Is this because of too many of our players carrying knocks or is MH scared of another battering behind closed doors to knock their confidence for 6 a few days before Crawley.

Either way, I'd say probably for the best and not sure why they thought good idea to play this in the first place.

 

Middlesbrough at home added on 26th and BPA away added a week before.

 

Always fun and games with boro in the 80's & 90's home & away....plus Hull too!!

Aw come on! Getafe are a La Liga 1 side who'll be playing Barca and Real Madrid in the next couple of months and they put out a strong side, as did Bolton a league above us, who are amongst promotion favorites this coming season. These aren't league or cup games - they're friendlies, designed to build up fitness and integrating new players into the squad. Think some of us are being a bit alarmist.

 

You’re missing the point though. The club misled fans into thinking this would be a first team lineup.
They sold tickets in advance and then moved the goalposts an hour before kickoff.
I had no desire to watch the juniors and if it had been advertised as such, I wouldn’t have attended.

You wouldn’t be on my side in a war, given up before a ball is kicked and the window has weeks to go. Stop worrying …hardly any club in L 2 has recruited numbers.

 

Really enjoyable game of football tonight, it’s nice to see we have a way of playing already with the pressing still which was evident throughout! Can’t say anyone looked out of place, Pattison Walker and cook looked really good first half as did oduor out wide. Roll on a week on Saturday

 

Really pleased with that friendly. Pattinson and Oyegoke had good games.

Generally the team played some good ball too.. was delicious that to watch! Long may it continue.

I’m also really surprised that the consensus on here is the same! Cracking stuff.

I’m getting excited for Crawley now. I hope we smash em.

I know results don’t matter but a good competitive game is the best build up to the season

 

I'm not there mate, love a good conspiracy theory, Ryan gets our land lord to sleeve sponsor us allegedly to the tune of £150k a season now Stefan turns up yet again to watch a bloody pre season friendly which even I can't be arsed to go. Maybe he's not as quick as he used to be behind the wheel of his racing cars and his Mrs has told him to get safer hobby, what could be safer than watching Bradford City play a pre season friendly at the Crown Oil Stadium better know to us as Spotland .

 

When Platt and Stubbs were together last season we had no pace.
We had Critchlow in the side towards the end of last season who was quick but our goals against went south with him in the team.
Pace at the back in lg2 is a myth.
Organised, Strong and brave is what we need.

 

Can you name our best XI?

lewis and Cook start. Presumably smallwood as skipper. Pattison. After that, I’ve no idea. I bet Hughes doesnt either.

 

Naturally I’d rather us win every game, but beat Crawley and nobody will remember this game. I’d forgotten we lost 3-0 last game of pre season last year until someone mentioned it on Twitter. The team is far from perfect, but it’s not a reflection on a competitive game.

 

AFC Fylde 2 - 0 Salford City
Philadelphia Union Reserves 1 - 1 Wrexham
MK Dons 1 - 5 Coventry, then MK Dons 1 - 3 Northampton
Gillingham 0 - 4 Cambridge

I've been on to the clubs and told them not to give up, although by the sound of it most of them are resigned to relegation this season.

 

Very dull game today. Aside from his long throw, Taylor doesn’t bring much to the team at all. In fact he looks very clumsy and could give away a few penalties over the course of the season perhaps? Certainly at fault for their goal anyway

No 12 (Oyegoke from Brentford?) I thought was very impressive and most play came down the right side first half, also a few good runs through CM by Pattison. Odasina looked totally disinterested when he came on, and Lewis distribution was shite as usual

I don’t usually read too much into friendlies, but with only a week to go to the start of the new season, we play anything like that at Crawley and I’ll be fuming

 

Taylor has stuck out like a sore thumb this preseason and not in a good way.
