Billy Sharpe is obviously determined to drag the last penny out of clubs taking it to the opening weekend, For me not the kind of player for us, He could have been training with the club and teammates ready for the kick off but prefers to wait and get the best possible deal for himself over the interests of the club,

We've canceled tomorrow's friendly.

 

Unless one is going to play fringe or junior players , it is a tad close to the first league game if I were honest to get minutes into those in line for th3 starting 11 plus subs.

Absolutely not - I'd never bet on something I don't want to happen! Could never bring myself to back against City, or stick Leeds or Huddersfield on an accumulator, for example!

 

Is this because of too many of our players carrying knocks or is MH scared of another battering behind closed doors to knock their confidence for 6 a few days before Crawley.

Either way, I'd say probably for the best and not sure why they thought good idea to play this in the first place.

 

Seems a bit daft to have a friendly the week of. Might be different if we were at home on Saturday? But if the game was on we'd only have full training sessions today, wednesday and thursday as we'll be travelling down most the friday. Might be better to have 4 days of training? Behind closed doors too, so likely far more rotation, not much point in everyone getting another 45 minutes when we can work on gameplans for saturday.

I see last season as a failure. We overachieved due to a player scoring a lot and another stopping a lot. We all knew the weaknesses and will have to wait and see if these have been addressed. I was upset when the Williams deal fell through but certainly cheered up when we made what I feel is a better signing. I think we will make the POs but like everyone else, feel we should be finishing better than that. The CB situation does worry me. With no pace we have to play deep which invites teams to come onto us.

 

I often back what I call the axis of evil, City to lose , Leeds and Huddersfield to win. It doesn’t change the results,it would happen anyway so might as well cash in and then I’m not as depressed.
